Jack sighed as he looked out over the Richmond skyline. Apparently there was a mutant, or meta-human, or alien.... Heck he didn't even know anymore! He figured they might be a mutant though. Either way, he had come in an attempt to find them. From what he hear they had super speed and strength, and could... influence people to do what they wanted them too. Actually sounded like something his dad could do. He let out another sigh before shaking off the memory. Couldn't loose focus right now. A handful of people had been reported missing too. As for why Jack was here alone. He may not have told anyone he was coming here. He just needed sometime to thing. He looked down at his new gloves, the figure tips cut from them. Wouldn't fully prevent issues, but better than nothing.
After some time of just looking he finally went to the streets below, hands in his pockets, and his senses sharp. If he was going to find this person, he'd need to find and follow literally anything strange. He had already decided where he would look. The places with a bit more nightlife to them. Call it a hunch on his part. Better chance of sifting through more people.

”I'm Katherine Pierce, I'm a survivor.“
Katherine hadn’t been to Virginia in a few years. The last time she was here, Stefan had held her in front of a blaze, killing them both. How she was back, she had no clue, but something was also different here. It was the same but at the same time, it felt off. Walking through the small town of Mystic Falls, that’s when she realized what was going on. There were no vampires. It was like, wherever she was, she had never come to this Mystic Falls before. Doing some research, she had learned that this Damon and Stefan Salvatore had died of old age. That news was like a punch to the gut. Stefan, poor Stefan.
She wiped her tears but gave a pause. If Stefan wasn’t alive, she wondered about her doppelgänger. Sure enough, her doppelgänger had perished in the car accident that had killed her parents. A devilish smirk crossed her lips as she stood on Wickery Bridge, looking into the water below. ”Oh poor, sweet Elena Gilbert” she started the let out a laugh. Elena had taken the life that she was supposed to have. The life without fear, one where both Salvatore brothers loved her. Now? Good riddance. she thought to herself.
Finally, she turned and took off, putting as much distance from this town as she could. She had no reason anymore. No need to run, to hide, but no Stefan either. It was time for her to start over, start fresh. Making it to Richmond, she decided to catch something to eat. She was walking the streets when she smelt it. Fresh blood. The blood rushed to her face as the veins under her eyes became visible.
Her fangs snapped out from under her lips which had turned up into a smile. Pushing off the pavement with all her strength, she jumped from the street and up onto the rooftops above, where she proceeded to vamp speed her way to an almost deserted alleyway. Below, it looked like someone had fell and skinned their knee. Blood poured down their leg. Jumping down and landing without a sound, behind them, Katherine begins to walk up to them. ”Is everything ok?” she asked before appearing in front of them and helping them to their feet. Their eyes connected. Compulsion was a tricky thing, you had to believe every word you say. ”Stay calm, and quite. This won’t hurt a bit” she said and her fangs slid out again. A grin spread across her face ”or maybe it will”
Her fangs sunk into his neck like butter. The blood hit her tongue and it felt like ecstasy. The taste exploded in her mouth as she drank from him. She could hear his heart begin to slow when she pulls back and looks at him. She wiped her arm across her mouth and the proceeded to bite her wrist. She pressed her wrist to the guys mouth, letting her blood pour into it. She watched as the two fang marks disappeared from his neck as they were healed with her blood. Katherine looked into his eyes and started to compel him again. ”you were on your way home when you fell. You never seen me tonight” she said and sped out of the alley, leaving the man to find his way home. Back on the streets, she heard footsteps behind her and noticed someone following her. This wasn’t Klaus, and he had no idea who he was messing with. She refused to continue running. She turned down an alley way and jumped up on the roof to wait for the person to come into the alleyway.

Jack quietly walked the streets, looking at all the folks that were around. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Just some folks enjoying themselves. He kept looking until his eyes settled on a family.... They hadn't shown up yet.... No. He had to focus on the task at hand. There was someone here, and he was going to find them. Granted he wished he'd grabbed some Stark tech or something to help him search right about not.
The mutant kept looking around. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Then he heard someone. ”Stay calm, and quite. This won’t hurt a bit. Or maybe it will.” He quietly slipped around a corner to see a woman biting another person's neck. Jack let out a light gasp before noticing something else. Two puncture mark? Wait. A vampire? By Thanos. Were was Blade when you needed him? He then got a surprise though. She didn't kill the man, but she bite herself? Something just didn't seem right there. She pressed the bit to the person's lips and the wounds seemed to heal. She then told him he never saw her? Well, Jack was pretty sure he found the person he was looking for.
As she walked out of the alley, the mutant began to follow her. Maybe some of his dad's old thief skills had rubbed off on him. He walked behind her carefully, pulling his still retracted bo staff. The person then turned into another alley, and Jack followed, speaking with his Cajun draw as he turned it. "'Ey. I wanna.... Wha?" She wasn't there. Jack looked around, extending his staff. "I know you're here somewhere."

”I'm Katherine Pierce, I'm a survivor.“
Katherine watched from the rooftop as a guy came walking around the corner, searching for her. She studied him and watched him snap out some kind of staff. A smirk appeared on her face. ”That was his weapon?” she thought to herself. Then he spoke, like he could sense her standing there, watching him. She jumped down, landing a few yards behind him with no sound. Flipping her hair over her shoulder, she leaned against the brick wall of a building and crossed her arms with a smirk. “Are you looking for little old me?” she asked turning on the charm ”How unfortunate” she practically purred.
Pushing off the wall, her stilettos make a clink sound on the asphalt as she made her way closer to him. She kept an eye on his hands and the stick that was in them, but she also glanced at him from head to toe. ”At least you look so much more cuter than the last person trying to hunt me down” she said and bit her bottom lip and twirled her finger in her hair. ”Who sent you? Klaus?” The name rolled off her tongue like it physically hurt her to say it, like it was poisonous.

Jack was a bit tense, and quickly turned the moment he heard a voice, his staff ready. He turned to see the woman from early leaning against the wall, and he sighed slightly. He slowly lowered his bo staff, seeming to be less willing to strike first. He then shrugged, looking Katherine dead in the eye.
"Depends on what ya consider unfortunate." He kept his eyes on the vampire as she walked up, not wanting to become a snack today. He went on guard again, but blushed slightly when she said he was cuter then the last person that had hunted her. Wait? Hunted? That actually makes sense. But when she asked if someone named Klaus sent him, Jack just gave a confused look. He didn't know a Klaus, hero or villain. Jack slowly let the staff rest in his left hand, lowering it.
"I don't know who you're talkin' 'bout. I just saw some reports 'bout weird stuff goin' on, and came to investigate. Sounds like ya hate the guy though." It was at least clear the young mutant was nervous, though it seemed to be more from her previous comment than anything else.

“Depends on what ya consider unfortunate” Katherine smirked. Oh he has no clue she thought to herself and fully turned on her charm. She took a step forward and gave him a flirty smile. ”Oh he’s the worst, but now I have you to protect me” she said in a sweet voice. Anyone who didn’t know her, wouldn’t be able to tell that there was sarcasm in her voice. ”A big, strong man like you, who could want more” she said and slowly moved her hand to touch his upper arm and feel his “muscles.”
Not that there was anything wrong with how strong he was, she just knew the strongest beings in the universe, hell she was hunted by him. She dropped her hand from his arm and offered it to him with a smile. ”We haven’t officially met, I’m Katherine” she said in a sweet voice that sounded like it could weave cotton candy in the air. ”And who might you be?”

Jack watched Katherine carefully as she walked up, blushing slightly as she said now she had him to protect her in a flirting voice. Maybe she was being sarcastic? She didn't know about his powers, so maybe he was just a bit jaded by folks knowing he was basically a walking bomb factory. She then called him a big, strong man, and touched his arm. The mutant tense up, know what a touch could cause if it was in the wrong place. No.... He covered everywhere the average person would touch. Well, except his finger tips, but he just kept them close to his body. Either way, he finally spoke up, clearly a bit unsure about everything.
"Um.... Uh.... Th-thanks. I mean... yeah. I... I can try to keep ya safe." Oh my word. He inherited a lot from his parents, but their charisma and charm definitely didn't carry over. She then spoke with a sweet voice, telling him her name was Katherine. Jack nodded, finally retracting his bo staff and tucking it back into his coat as she asked who he was. Jack finally smiled, seeming to get his nerves under control, and spoke with his Cajun draw.
"Nice ta meet ya, Katherine. Name's Jackson, but folks just call me Jack." Jack then thought for a second, tilting his head slightly with a curious gaze. "So I told ya why I'm'ere. What bring's ya to Richmond?"

”I'm Katherine Pierce, I'm a survivor.“
When she grabbed his arm, she felt him tense up. Shrugging it off, she continued to woo him. ”Jack, well Jack, I’m glad that you are here to protect little ol’ me” She let her old southern accent pour off her tongue. ”I’m from around these here parts, but I think I need a change of scenery” her eyes gave a mischievous sparkle. ”I think I would be safer tagging along with you, don’t you think?” she said as she started to circle around him, trailing her hand across his back and to his other arm. His weapon was long stowed away but she was prepared for anything. After all, Katherine Pierce was a survivor first.
”So where are you from, Jack?” She asked him, his name rolling off her tongue like honey. She was only inches from his body now as they stood face to face, but still the only part of them touching was her hand on his arm, that she had yet to remove. Looking in to his eyes, she gave him a warm smile. He really was cute. She bit her bottom lip, waiting for his answer. She knew if she reached out, she could snap him in half with a flick of her finger, but what was the fun in that?

Jack relaxed more as Katherine continued to speak. He still blushed some when she suggested he was there to protect her, but there was something about her. He couldn't quite put his finger on it though. She then said she wanted a change of scenery, and gave him a bit of a mischievous look. It then somehow still surprised him when she suggested she'd be safer if the mutant went with her. She circled around him, switching which arm she held onto as she did. He soon spoke up, his Cajun draw clear as ever.
"Well, I'm not sure ya need me to be safe, but hey, could def'nently be interestin'. Don't ya tink?" It was then that she stood in front of him, only a few inches away. It got the teen a bit worried again. What if she did touch him? Head end up charging something. He knew it! But then she asked about where he was from. Her smile seemed to calm him down some. She did seem nice, and he had to admit she looked kind of pretty. Dang that thought sounded a bit childish. He mental shook it off before finally speaking.
"Well, my parent are from Louisiana and Georgia, so I've been dere a bunch, but I mostly grew up in New York. Not the city mind ya. My parents work... uh... at a school up dere."
