Oh how the mighty fall.
One moment, Iosef was starting to gloat about the damage he had done to the venerable "Gray Ghost of Arkania", when the demon bellowed out his battle cry. Apparently, the Zabrak had survived, and was a bit pissed off. From within the hole he created, there was a barrage like Iosef had never seen. Tidus had apparently helped the warrior stack his weapons nicely, and there was a flurry of energy beams, microrockets, and bullets flying out at him. No matter, the shields took care of it....
It was what came after the 'Gift from our queen' line that finished this fight.
Force destruction....A power that only the highest tier warriors learned....It was not something that this low-class wretch should be capable of wielding. Iosef himself had tried many times unsuccessfully to master its use, failing miserably several times. Now, this animal...this pond scum....He was throwing it at Iosef...and there was literally nothing he could do about it.
The attack struck the elder Adasca full on in the chest. He hadn't even seen it coming through the smoke and flames of the barrage Kakatal had launched. It sent him flying backward, through a wooden shed, and bouncing off the ground. He skidded to a stop about fifty feet from where he had been hit, the armor on his chest completely dissolved. The man underneath was faring little better. The skin had begun to rot, decay, and wither away. His breaths were coming in ragged bursts, the pain so intense. The helmet melted away, revealing a face that looked like it had been sprayed with a Mandalorian flamer.
Iosef Adasca had finally been defeated.
Still, even in his defeat, Iosef began to laugh...at least as much as his deteriorating lungs would allow. Loki approached the dying Arkanian, wondering what in the name of the Force this man could find funny in this situation. Reaching up, and grabbing Loki by the collar, the old man sneered. In a rattling, raspy voice, he spoke his final words.
"You wretched fool...You don't even know what you have done. I...am not...the worst...or the last...of who is coming, Zabrak. You'll regret not submitting sooner. When -HE- arrives, everyone will regret your decision to kill me. Enjoy your fleeting victory, for it will be...
...your....last."
The force destruction did its job, and the body of the now-deceased Iosef Adasca quite literally fell in half as his torso dissolved into nothing. Slowly, it finished the job, disintegrating the rest of the corpse.
The menace of the Adasca clan had finally been destroyed.

Loki stood over the corpse of his fallen foe, his helmet slid back he was panting from exertion, he listened to the lunatics ravings, as his armor slowly slid into its rest state revealing his blue and gray rubes drenched in sweat the armor had done its job, and so had his teachings from his queen the battle still raged around him shots going hither and yon, the dying screams of Arkanians around him, he held up the hand that quite literally destroyed Iosef, the fingertips where blackened, and cracked he moved his fingers to make sure he still had feeling, but he had known from practice there would be some minor damage to them, he clenched his fist and let it fall to his side, still breathing hard. then held up his other wrist and opened his comm channels to all Arkanians and channels nearby, hoping to reach all the troopers here, and even Tidus below.
::This is Kekatal, Commander of the Royal Guard, your rebel leader Iosef Adasca is dead! Surrender now! and you will be granted leniency, swear fealty to your Prince once more! If you choose to keep fighting, you will all die where you stand!::
Loki had little faith, as he lifted the crisped and cracked Emblem from Iosefs remains he held it up and tucked it into his robes as a blaster bolt struck his left arm, luckily where his armor had slid up, he grunted from the force of impact and turned to look at a few advancing troopers, he was tired now, but duty, duty must always come first, with a snap hiss, his dark blue saber appeared and he screamed a battle cry as he charged forward, leaving the smoldering remains of his Princes's greatest foe behind him, soon he was lost in a battle rage, and even those who heeded his warning, that he found he granted clemency, in the form of death, for to betray House Adasca was to accept death as your only reward, Loki once more began advancing through the facility, where because of the onslaught of new arrivals the Arkanian troops had begun retreating in a rear guard fashion. Loki grabbed a grunt and muttered the name Tidus, the man pointed down and Loki tossed him aside like a rag doll, each step was pain, each step was another closer to his prince. He was toying with emotion and power he could hardly contend with, his silver eyes were flashing between yellow and their natural hue. Loki found an emergency stairwell and it, leaping the railing and falling at last to the basement level where Tidus should be, with a growl he kicked open the door, and walked into the lab his body aflame in physical pain.

Neuroxis had been making his way through the lab, trying to find a way out other than the destroyed main elevator. He had eliminated, with much prejudice, the few surviving holdouts in the basement lab. The lights were flickering, blood splattered on the walls, cracked and shattered windows, and emergency lights flashing. There was only one standing, however, and that was the Symbiote-encased Tidus Adasca.
He heard footsteps coming down the hall nearby, and readied himself, but relaxed once he heard Loki's growl, followed by a crash. The Royal badass of the Adascan Guard had arrived....in style. If Kakatal was here, that meant only one thing....Iosef was no longer in the world of the living.
Moving toward the sound of the crashing metal, Neuroxis strode through the shattered hallway. Off to the one side, he could feel a huge power source still running, even though the electricity had been cut from the area. Opting to take a look, the combined pair walked into a lab that had been untouched during the fight. Inside, there was a blue, spinning circular abnormality, in a corner of the room....a portal. It didn't take any kind of superior intellect to know where that portal led....
...Home.
Opening a channel to Kakatal, Tidus spoke in the tri-layered voice of the symbiote.
::"We have found something. We are in Lab 275a. What is the status of the exile?"::
He couldn't feel the dark aura that the elder Adasca normally put off, so the question was merely a formality. The answer was already known, but for personal reasons, the words had to be spoken. It was for peace of mind more than anything, as this man had been known to have been thought deceased, and then popped up again later, like a bad infestation of mynocks. They just never could seem to be able to finish the job. Hearing the words spoken would do much to assuage the fears that it wasn't true yet again.

Loki was panting from exhaustion when he saw the same strange armored figure from when Tidus was captured. Loki's eyes still flashed yellow, silver, yellow silver, vapor rose from his body, and his robes where tattered, torn and he was covered in blood. pieces of his armor hung low and parts of it seemed to have fallen off or stopped working, his saber still lit in his hand as he stared at what he believed to be his prince. As though from a great distance he heard words spoken to him, but his Animalistic nature was too close to the surface for him to totally comprehend what he was hearing. Words, he knew words, he was not a mindless killing tool, he was civilized, two parts of his mind battled still while he fell to a kneel before Tidus, his body ached, his free hand, with blackened fingertips clenched and unclenched, his body shook, from exertion and pain, ribs were broken, he had lacerations around his face, he had not come nscathed and after depleting most of his armors reserves had fought back through the lab with no armor, thus the damage.
Slowly though his true nature won out and he shook his head clearing it. And looked up at his Prince, he reached into his gray and blue robes and said nothing he held aloft the token he had taken from Iosefs corpse and offered it to his Prince. He still could not speak, for his body ached, and now the realization the guard in the other room had succeeded in breaking or at least cracking the bones in his jaw. The realization made every labored breath agony as more wounds and damage to his body began to ache as clarity returned. He was nearly spent, but his charge was safe, and that was all that ever mattered. His kneel which was on one knee became two, and he seemingly collapsed though still upright enough to hold aloft the token, the last of his reserves spent. His eyes watered from pain, and slid down his face, clearing tracks of dirt and blood. The Gray Ghost was victorious and the traitor dead. At last Kekatal spoke but it was barely a horse whisper. "Tid...us...." Then the Zabrak fell forward on his face and lay still, shallow breaths the only indication he still lived. The token of Iosef was an inch or two from his blackened hand pointed towards Tidus.

Dashing over to his friend, Tidus felt the symbiote peel back from his body, exposing the normal Arkanian underneath. Sliding to his knees, he caught Loki as the Zabrak fell to his knees, taking the token from the warrior's hand. A slow smile crept across Tidus' face....Kakatal had done it...Iosef was finally gone!
"Well done, my friend. You have done House Adasca proud this day. Rest now....We can handle things from here." Seeing the troopers that had followed Kakatal to this level, he noticed a medic with them...at least Tidus hoped he was a medic...the red cross on the arm was a universal symbol of 'healer' where he was from, and it seemed to be the same here on Earth 420.
He hoped it didn't mean something else.
The medic approached, and nodded. Tidus stood up, and turned away, back to the portal. The burning ruins of Adascopolis were visible in the background on the other side of the spinning, whirling pinwheel, sending sparks in all directions. Luckily, there didn't seem to be any troops coming through right now...but that could change. There was also a unique opportunity here, they could actually go HOME.....
But, did he really want to? What was there to go home TO now? There was nothing left of his family, the entirety of the planet was in shambles...and there was nothing Tidus himself could do about it. Even if he wanted to, there weren't enough left to rebuild. He thought hard for but one more moment, until suddenly, the symbiote again encased the young man.
"We understand your pain, young one. We know what this decision is costing you, and we commend you for making it. You would have made a fine ruler for your people."
With a roar, Neuroxis raised both hands, and took aim at the generator sitting near the open portal. Energy began to form around the symbiote's hands, and concentrate in his palms. Suddenly, the energy burst forth, tearing into the high-tech panel, and shattered it instantly. The portal shut down just as rapidly, sealing what was the only gate home that Tidus and Loki would have.
They were now stuck here. But perhaps...just perhaps...that wouldn't be such a bad thing.
Tidus again turned to his protector and friend, and knelt beside him, the symbiote again peeling back and retracting. Tidus looked Loki over, taking the Zabrak's burned hands into his own. Closing his eyes, he began to concentrate, feeling the force pooling around him. While he wasn't as skilled as what Loki, or even Iosef was in it's use, he -was- able to do some things with it....Healing was one of those things. The force began to transfer into the gray-skinned warrior, and the skin began to knit, heal, and regenerate. While he wouldn't be able to heal the major damage caused by the fight, perhaps Tidus could help ease some of the discomfort and pain from the burns.
He would have to ask the Zabrak about the fight, once Loki had some of his strength back. Now, it was time to get out of here.

Loki reached up and touched the side of Tiduses face, as Tidus spoke to him, his eyes fluttered and slipped into a coma-like state, at ease knowing his prince was safe, and the immediate threat was dealt with. Loki was gone to the world when Tidus unleashed hell on the portal and as the medics began to poke and prod at his body. He faded and his consciousness moved to the past...
***One Week Previously before the Convergence***
The political unrest plaguing the Arkanian world was ignored in this place, dozens of warriors moved in katas while another stood in his uniform watching them perform. While those before him where Arkanian he was not, yet he was the best among them and the highest ranked based on the emblem upon his shoulders and the epaulets along his uniforms neck, he was commander of the royal guard, Codename Loki Kakatal Arde. "Kilson, you're two steps behind keep up!" The commander bellowed as doors behind him slid open and a dashing man in similar, but more flamboyant and sporting a smart beard garb walked in and smiled as the commander turned and bowed, all the men in the hall did the same. "Your majesty, what do we owe this pleasure." Loki said as he was waved off by his king. "Just came to check on the few new recruits...and a word with you if you don't mind commander, in private..? Loki nodded and with a hand signal the men dispersed for the refresher rooms in the back, once the warriors where out of ear shot the king frowned and adopted a less formal pose, when alone, the royal family treated Kakatal as a friend, not a subject, but appearances where to be maintained when others where about now however they were alone. "Aurora is concerned, Iosef has disappeared again and this time a few of the prototypes Tidus designed are missing...There's talk of rebellion, and our spies fear the worst, we are fighting against a long standing horrible reputation as greedy gluttons, and I fear Iosef is the one fueling the public's dissent, we fear now it is not a matter of if a rebellion will occur but when... You know what I must ask you now, if and when it happens don't you old friend?" Loki stared into the kings eyes for a moment chewing on this new bit of information, so Iosef was still sour about losing the throne. Loki clasped the older mans shoulder. "I will protect him with my last breath Adara, but if I can protect you and the queen as well I will.. Iosef may be a famed warrior, but he his arrogance and disdain for those he deems unworthy are his hubris, he will not succeed, if he incites a true rebellion, and we are forced out I will take the boy and run, we know the plane, ruler in exile...But I do not think it will come to that. Iosef is bluster, he is wind, and we are mountains, and no matter how loud the wind howls, mountains do not bow..." The King raised his free arm and brought Loki close to him their foreheads touching, only the closest of friends showed this type of intimacy in Arkania. "For all our sakes, I hope you're right..." Loki did too but the sinking feeling in his gut would not lesson.
The king left and Loki walked back to his guards and began issuing orders, to prepare for the worst, then he pulled aside a few of the newer recruits and began talking to them quietly, a large man walked up behind Loki and tapped his shoulder. "What did his majesty one Loki?" Loki turned and greeted his best friend with a warm smile. "Oh you know King Adara, all doom and gloom. Do your duty and all that.." Tennan chuckled, his gray beard and mustache twitching. "Seems that's all there ever is these days, what with the galactic republic acting all wonky." Loki nodded and waved them off for drinks saying later, Tennan clapped his back as Loki turned away from his brothers in arms, his smile being replaced with a deep frown, other royals and members of the houses hated him, but his guards? They loved him, and he them, and nothing could take that away...He feared he was spending his last days with them as he walked away, tomorrow they would drink, they would plan a celebration for Kilson joining their ranks. Loki looked back as the men laughed at something Tennan said. A sad smile crossed the Zabraks face as he left the room.
***Three Days Before the Convergence***
Loki watched along with two dozen royal, each holding a gilded spear like weapon, stood in formation as their queen spoke of urgent matters, it was like a dull echo to the royal guards, as reports came from the city of more unrest and general outcry against House Adasca, a few military advisors had pointed out that over half the military, supported their General Iosef, and feared that if they incited enough disrest in the public the military and Iosef could very well attack them, and that even with the most respect warriors in Arkania protecting them, it would do little against a full on assault by their mighty armies. "Thank you Klaybon, we will take this matter under advisement." Queen Aurora said in a stately way and with a wave dismissed the advisors and other sycophants milling about, as well as the royal guards, Prince Tidus saw his opportunity and dashed out a side exit most likely heading for his lab. "Not you Lord Commander..." The Queen stated loudly as he had been making his way towards the exit with the other guards. "Adara has spoken to you yes? About your first duty?" She peered over his shoulder as the doors shut and slumped in her seat exhausted. "What are we to do? I fear the worst is coming and nothing I can do or say will ever change it... You will save the heir old friend, even if it means letting Adara and I pass away to nothing. Ah do not protest Kakatal, our time is nearing its end, and he will need your strength and guidance in the times to come he loves you, and you him, do not fail us, for without you to protect him, Arkania will truly be doomed, when the time comes, the tomes I gave you will give you the weapon you need against Iosef, I trust you will do what you need to." Kakatal nodded, he was having trouble speaking, his patrons, those that saved his once meaningless carcass where talking as though they were already dead, they both looked so defeated, he turned his head away so they would not see the tear sliding down his cheek, they had given him everything they had and more broken old traditions and customs to place him here. Normally formality was ignored when they where all alone but this one time Kakatal knelt on one knee before his King and Queen "As you command, my lord and lady, I will protect Tidus with every fiber of my being, and when the time comes I will destroy Lord Iosef myself. Your wills be done, and may the force guide us.." Loki was looking down as he spoke, he feared the worst, and he knew they knew more than they said...But only time would tell what happens next. Unknown to the King and Queen Tidus had only pretended to leave, he hid behind a door and watched the exchange.
***Convergence Day***
The palace was quiet but the city was in an upheaval. Initial optimistic reports had the military split in half, however Kakatal knew that was generous, only 20,000 troops had sided with the royal family, but the army was fifty times that size, 15,00 now battled the remaining army in the streets as well as many of the local populace, and they where being pushed back, another five thousand had set up a defensive perimeter around the palace, the royal guard was uneasy and remained within the walls, Loki was worrying himself to death, the King and Queen refused to leave the throne room, and Tidus was hidden away in his labs, Loki had been checking the defenses and speaking with the commanders, he was uneasy about them, but all the loyalists had tied yellow bands around their arms to separate friend from foe, the royal guard in their armor did not need this, it was obvious they were different from the regular military. Loki had five guards around Tidus' door, while two dozen walked his rounds with him, in the distance blaster rifle fire could be heard, rockets and other explosions rocked the city below. They had known this was coming, hence the acceptance by the king and queen. He had five thousand troops outside, and 175 royal guards inside, five with tidus and another twenty with the king and queen. Leaving him with 150 to guard the main hall, the other advisors and people of the palace had been evacuated when hostilities broke out.
A call came across the comms channel, 15 enemies had appeared like ghosts at the defenses and began attacking, more where coming, that meant that the other thousands in the city had fallen or at least broken. Loki cursed his helmet slid up. "ARKANIANS! TO THE HALL!" There were thundering footsteps as Loki and his entourage rushed towards the hall and the remaining guards flooded the long hall, Loki's men filed into their places with their others, as they formed ranks facing the blast doors, they faced insurmountable odds, and a deadly foe.
Outside a fierce battle raged between rebellion forces, loyal to General Iosef, and the few thousand loyalist forces remaining. Loki strode to the front where Tenann was obviously standing waiting for him, no helmet to be seen, he winked at Loki. "Tenann I've told you a thousand times, wear your kriffing helm!" Loki said mock sternly to his number two. "Ay you have, and I've told you just as many times I can't see with that blasted thing on, looks like we finally get some action. " Tennan said going from funny to serious in a blink Loki nodded, rockets thumped the walls and dust fell from the ceiling, lights flickered the men stood stoic and did not shift explosions in the distance and blaster fire growing ever louder echoed through the hall. "ROYAL GUARDS OF ARKANIA! WE FIGHT TODAY! THE TRAITOR KNOWN AS LORD IOSEF THREATENS OUR KING AND QUEEN.." Loki paused taking in the sight as the guards readied their spear like weapons, these weapons were unique able to slash and hack through anything, even block sabers, as well as shoot charged bolts of energy. "TODAY WE STAND AS THE LAST LINE! THE FINAL WALL! WE WILL SUBMIT TO OUR DUTY! TODAY WE WILL MAKE THEM PAY FOR EVERY INCH IN BLOOD! TODAY WE DIE FOR KING AND QUEEN! FOR ARKAIANA! TODAY WE BLEED AND OUR STORY WILL BE TOLD FOR GENERATIONS TO COME! THE LAST STAND! THE FINAL DAY! WE WILL BE IMMORTAL AND NO MAN CAN KILL THE IMMORTAL! A BLUE DAY RISES AND WE FIGHT!" Loki bellowed and his warriors roared back in unison, for a brief moment drowning out the din of fighting outside, from a side hall a man in slightly dated armor and a glowing weapon in his hand a blaster in the other walked out. "Mind if an old warrior joins you? I would rather die with my guards than sitting upon my throne..." The King now stood next to Loki as the guards roared their approval, this would indeed be a legendary day, a king had not fought with his guards in centuries. the stomped and whooped as one, and Loki beamed as another rocket imploded on the blast door behind him, he walked the line and touched each man's shoulder as the King turned and faced the door, each man saluted their commander as he passed and touched them, as he returned to the front, he stood next to his King, "The queen?" Loki whispered. "The tunnels, we sent scouts down to assure they weren't covered, Tidus is with them, that was quite the speech Lord commander, are you ready? Loki nodded and embraced the king and then Tennan. He turned at last to face the blast doors, and his helmet slid shut, the blast doors where buckling "FOR THE CROWN!" His cry was echoed behind him as well as shouts for the King and Queen. The blast doors cracked and split open falling upon the floor with a thundering crash as rebel troops poured in, no sign of the specialized units mentioned by the army outside, the army outside still fought but it was a delaying battle as the line had broken.
Loki bellowed from within his helmet and raised his spear down as his men opened fire against the enemy. Many of the first wave fell but more crawled over their comrades, at last Loki charged forward and his men did the same the king and Tenannn at his side. Many fell before the elite guards, screams and blood began to cover the hall shock troops began to pour in and overwhelm some of the newer guards, Kilbon was brought down in such a manner as the king fought alongside his men, Loki beheaded one man and turned as a man behind him was blasted back by Tenanan "Got your back" Tennan roared as he smashed into another group of rebel fighters, they were holding them back but there were too many, hundreds flooded the palace stairs as the guards pushed out, Loki slew another group of enemies, as the king fought valiantly in his own right, his lightsaber work was something to behold, as was his control of the force as he blasted rebels back with a wave of his hand and urged the guards forward, for every guard dozens of the rebels fell, but slowly the numbers against them became too much and a guard here or there fell... There was a sudden explosion as a rocket hit a pillar near them Loki was thrown back but used his repulsors to stay steady. He stabbed a rebel through the neck and kicked him into another that was charging them, They were encircled now, at least fifty royal guards lay dead if not more. Suddenly there were blurs smashing into the circle of guards and Loki realized with dismay Iosef had found the Harvester armor. Loki's own armor was the original prototype, and he could see them clearly the guards where no match for Harvester armor but he was, there where three of them here now, and Loki blasted forward and grabbed one from behind his specially designed blade disrupting the shields and hitting the mans vitals as another crashed into him Loki's claw appendage formed on his free hand and he slammed it into the mans guts as he was thrown back, skidding on the tiles the other came in trying to behead him with the lightsaber attachment and Loki blocked it with his blade, this fight was taking everything he had, the king was still holding his own with Tenann but the guards numbers were dwindling, Loki grunted as he slashed at the helm of the harvester suit and cracked it then spun out of range of the saber and slammed his spear into the cracked helm as blood splattered from within and the man fell, Loki couldn't remember how many Harvesters had been completed but he knew it was more than three. Suddenly there was another blur but this one bypassed the Zabrak guard and slammed into Tenann standing with the king, a blast from the suit hit Tenann in the head and he fell to the ground dead, Loki bellowed in pain at the death of his friend but something far worse was happening the new arrival turned towards the king and its helm split open revealing the face of Iosef. "Hello Adara, goodbye Adara! The king turned and tried to raise his blade, but it was blasted from his hand as Iosef's own slammed into his chest, the kings look of shock as he fell was etched in Loki's frozen face as he watched his king fall Loki screamed to the force, his scream caused those including Iosef to cover their ears even the last twenty guards. " Oh dear it seems I've angered the family pet! Iosef jeered suddenly two dozen blurs arrived and attacked the remaining guards enmass, they fought valiantly but where no match for the advanced armor that should have been theirs. Loki screamed in rage again as he charged Iosef' who's helm slid shut. "Come dog! COME DIE LIKE YOUR KING! Loki raised his blade and crossed with Iosef. " Wait until I get my hands on the queen I'll let you live long enough to watch her scream as I rip out her heart and the welps too!" Loki bellowed again and shoved Iosef with his blade, and made a wild swing, missing by inches Iosef blasted into his chest sending them flying back into the hall, Loki grunted as sensors in his armor indicated shields at 70% Loki was in turmoil, his king and best friend dead, his men all dead, Iosef was here and he had won, Iosef stood away from him as he let Loki get to his feet. "Finish this dog men, He's not worthy of my time, capture him if you can so he can watch his precious queen and princeling die at my hands then he can join them, that will be his punishment for taking what was mine!" Iosef turned as there were battle cries from the sides of the hall, ten of the guards that had been in the throne room charged and the five from Tidus' room charged eight from one side seven from the other they all charged Iosef, the battle was brief but furious and they guards where left smoking on the floor. Iosef scoffed and walked out of the hall. The remaining harvesters surrounded Loki, six in hall as the other six followed Iosef out of the hall, they were sizing him up, He stood now, with spear in one hand and the handle of something in his other, it was the kings Lightsaber he stuck it to his armor and incliped his own jet black handle from his armor and ignited the dark blue blade. He shook with rage as he stared them down and began to side step as they did the same, then with lightning speed they converged on him. Loki dropped low and slashed with the spear first, disrupting shields and hitting scores with the saber, their own blades clanged, and those that had sabers where stopped by his shields, he kicked one away and slammed his blade into the chest of another but was hit in the knee, and fell to it as he stabbed a second in the chest, he was being beaten, he was finished, but he would die fighting, the world shook, screams rippled from a far, something else was happening, something never before seen. Loki used his chest repulsor to blast a harvester away but another came at him Loki ducked the wild swing and slammed his spear into the mans gut and twisted just as the last three charged, his guard was open his shields nearly depleted he had no time to parry, this was the end, he offered a silent prayer to the saftey of Tidus and his queen, his eyes closed he stood waiting for death, ah there it was he was falling, falling through space and time, so this was death? He thought to himself, as wind howled and the world shook, why is it so loud though? He had time to think, the wind rushed and thunder crashed, he hadn't felt blades plunge into him, but perhaps he had died instantly, he finally opened his eyes and realized he was falling. There was a yellowish glow above him and he turned in the air and saw a hole in the sky, the sky he was falling in was blue and filled with white fluffy clouds, he wasn't dead, he had been sent somewhere else, he disengaged his weapons and hit some buttons on his armor, all reserve power went to his thrusters as he blasted towards the portal, but just as he reached it, it faded away, he screamed into the air, his despair palpable, Tidus and his queen where beyond that thing, how would he find them, what would he do? He had no answers so he headed for the ground...
***Present Day***
As the medics worked on him his eyes fluttered as though he was dreaming and then at last opened to see Tidus blasting another portal generator to pieces, he felt like he had been asleep for nearly a decade but it had only been moments, whatever medicine these men had it was working wonders with his enhanced physiology. Loki smiled at Tidus knowing he had made a hard choice to remain on this world, but Loki knew that they would find allies here, and friends, he had met some already, they just had to get there..

"Enjoy your fleeting victory, for it will be... ...your....last."
...your....last."
...your....last."
...your....last."
The 41st Millennium Dead world Arkhaus Mons
The Tomb was uncovered by an explorator ship 173 years 4 months and 28 days ago. Magos Explorator Hrabrainen was looking for mineral deposits in the sector, and found a gem. At once he had reported it to the proper authorities. No, not the Administratum. If the Imperium at large would have beget this knowledge, an exterminatus fleet would have been ordered to cyclone bomb the place from orbit. No, Magos Explorator Hrabrainen knew what was important. The Imperium needed to be defended at all costs. And HOW do we defend the imperium from heretics, xenos, mutant and worse? With knowledge. Now, how will we gain knowledge if said knowledge is bombed to oblivion from orbit? Not one bit. So with time, a reclamation fleet was sent. 173 years later, it had arrived. In imperial terms, this was a quick reaction force.
A Dead world is that. Dead. Nothing lives on it, mostly there is also the lack of atmosphere. Getting a digging operation down there to excavate the Tomb took a lot of resources and man.... servitor power. But, if you can say something about the mechanicum, it is that they are efficient. After 173 years of waiting, the dome to protect the digging site was created in mare 3 days. Barracks and other facilities needed to move personel down to that dead rock was up a week later. Digging was started soon thereafter.
This was not the problem. Finding the Tomb was not the problem. Getting the doors open were not the problem. Getting inside was not the problem.
Awakening a Necron Tomb was.

Óbudai University
The people that worked on the project did not know where the money came from to realize it. The Physics section of the university suddenly gained a large amount of founds, thats the only thing they knew, and that the founds were for THIS very project. 12 years have gone since, several government changes, changes in leadership and so on had slowed it down, as it always happens in this country. But today, all that was forgotten. 12 years and now, Tamás Németh could finally reap the fruits of his labor. Today was the day the project codenamed by himself (and later taken over by the military when they realized what is going on) was "Project O`Niel", from an old TV show. Stargate would have been too obvious. At the basement of the Óbudai University, where before a test fusion reactor was housed (still is, what do you think is going to power that thing?) have been enlarged and given space to Project O`Niel. A complex of warehouses and research fascilities have been added along the time, under the city, under the noses of the people that this technology was supposed to benefit, but alas fate (or Dormammu) had other plans. But this, Tamás Németh did not know of course. He did not have this knowledge.
All he thought about was to press that shiny red button and see if his math pays off.
The 41st Millennium Dead world Arkhaus Mons
Immagin you just had a war. A big one. A Huge one. A GARGANTUAN war. A war of the size you, dear reader, cant even imagine because it was such a massive undertaking that the mind can not bend around it. Imagine you loosing this war, and coming to the this conclusion: Our race has been tricked, and became sentient robots, unable to die, but unable to live. Our race hates all that is alive. All that is alive, will eventually die to the point when there is no more life left in the galaxy. Seeing as we are undead robots, why dont we just sleep 60 or so million years and see if life is still around in the morning. And so, they did just that. An entire race just went to sleep, hiding until all disgusting sentient life was... dead. Imagine being woken up in your Tomb by said disgusting sentient life. Yah. Ya`ll get pissed.
Techpriest Dominus Sceledrus of sacred Mars walked strait into that Tomb, with digging machines and tanks and haulers to haul off all that archeo-tech knowledge that would bring joy to the Ombnisiah, for the Omnisiah was knowledge, for only through knowledge can machine become machine. So, they started hauling off the Tomb. Xeno-Biologis priests came to examine, The Xeno-logis argued that the Xano-Biologis should NOT be here, because there is nothing ALIVE in this place, and nothing of biological value was here. So, most of the expedition into the Tomb halted. Not Sceledrus. His job was to secure the Tomb, and so he would. He went deeper, deeper in that black and neon green of the Necron. Glyphs on the walls of Technoheretical nature, energy readings all over but nothing that spiked to interesting levels. Days went by as he walked with his cohort of Scitarii soldiers, the elites of cybernetic soldiers that the Mechanicum could provide. Just walking deeper and deeper into darkness with no change. Untill change did find itself to manifest.
Present day Budapest, Hungary Óbudai University
Since the University was at the foot of the Buda mountain, it was easy to carve the building complex into it, and equally as hard to mask its presence from the media and the country at large. At this point the military had taken over, and most assuredly they had support from some Political bigwigs from the parliament just over the river Danube. The media had sent falshoods about the construction and journalists were kept away. Tamás Németh has never seen this kind of secrecy. He had people following him, he knew, but didnt care. He would be known for this, he would be in the simplest textbooks from Alaska to Kamchatka (its longer if you go the other way). He will take his rightful place among those from his tiny country in eastern central europe that has earned the Noble prize, and MORE. Thus, he didnt care. He didnt care about the secrecy, he didnt care about the lies and the military taking over, as long as it is still his project. And oh, did they try to take it from him! They tried, and failed realizing that without the man with the vision, the project is dead in the water. So, the day had finally come. The test reactor that has thought physicists for generations how to handle such an installation has been operating fully for a week, stable and sound. The circuits on Project O`Niel have been double checked, many modules and sections of the gate have been tested thoroughly, what remained is the final test.
Opening an actual portal.
As he stood there, he actually felt like he was in the control room in the Chayene mountains. This was not accidental. Humanity has learned a lot from literature when it comes to technology. Jules Verne and the U-boats for an example. Why not steal a bit from an old American TV show? They had good ideas for this kind of situation. A separated and overlook command room that could be closed down in a fraction of a second with a bulkhead, separate chamber for the portal itself, and so on and so on. He even had the two bulkhead doors on the side of the chamber. None of these military fools realized, surely, that his plans from the chamber came to him from sitting in front of the TV as a child watching Viasat 6 at 1800 hours EVERY DAMN DAY. But, that show is why he took up his profession. Now, he stood there, in the control room, with a key in his right hand already inserted into a lock on a computer panel. 3 meters away, the commander of the military force János Gerezd held a key in an ignition lock in his hand just as Tamás did.
-Brigadier General János Gerezd-
"Készen állunk uraim?"
The General asked if everything was ready. Acknowledgements came in. Power at 100%, all systems green, yadi yadi yada. Tamás didnt care. He just wanted to turn that damned key and become a very integral part of future history. The scientist looked at the General. The general nodded, and started the countdown.
-Brigadier General János Gerezd-
"Három.... Kettő... Egy..."
The 41st Millennium Dead world Arkhaus Mons
Resistance was sporadic at first. Scarab maintenance automatons started to appear, and were quickly annihilated. Sceledrus realized what was happening and ordered a retreat. Too late. As they regrouped for a withdrawal, the walls opened, and the Warrior forms of the Necron started walking out. There is no other way to describe this. Excelent rows upon perfect rows of skeletal machines with deadly green beamed weapons walked out firing and turning Scitarii to ash. The only way forward, was to go deeper into the Tomb. They were closed off. The fighting was fierce. The small army had walked into a trap, and they were fighting to get out with no avail. At last they came to a chamber with a command console and an arch. No doors, just the one they came through. This is the end.
Or is it? He sent an order to his remaining Scitarii in binary cant.
-Sceledrus- ::SSSsS SssSsS SsS ssSsssS SSSssSs S S SssS::
::Rhu-31 Secure the chamber entrence at all costs.::
-Scitarii Rhu-31- ::ssS SSSssSsS sSSSssS::
::Yes Techpriest Dominus::
The Control panel. He calculated he had about 3 minutes until the remainder of his force would be annihilated to the last man, and it would be his turn. He had this much time to analyze, predict, and execute. He had to live. Not because life itself was precious. He had just sacrificed 300 cybernetic soldiers to survive. He would sacrifice 3 million if asked to save what knowledge he protected in his brain and databanks. Knowledge is Power, guard it well.
He scanned the control panel, while scanning the portal he analyzed the data from the panel. After 2 minutes and 48.32 seconds, he was looking at the button that statistically would have the most beneficial outcome, should he press it. He pressed it. When nothing happened he pressed the statistically next more likely button and so on and so on. At the 3 minute 2.85 seconds mark, the Arch had become a green portal of shining energy. He didnt even look back at the battle raging behind him. He simply scampered through on his many tiny legs while running scans and augur diagnostics on the portal to gather data.
Present day Budapest, Hungary Óbudai University
Tamás did not actually think the portal would open like in Stargate SG1, but he got pretty disappointed at the simplicity of it. No big booms, or shaking earth or... even angels descending from the sky to give free blowjobs would have been nice. You know, something to really grip the moments grandiose epicness. But no. The portal simply came into being where it was supposed to, shining neon green. No sound, no fanfare, no cool CGI moments from your childhood. It just.... functioned. Even so, Tamás Németh nearly pissed himself with joy. Tears appeared in his eyes and his legs were weak, his body stiff. his breathing stopped. This was it. He made it. He is now part of history. He is...
-Brigadier General János Gerezd-
"UAV indítás."
Just like in the show, they had installed a rail to launch UAV-s into the portal, should it open, and it did. The generals stern voice brought Tamás out of his trance. He had this gut feeling that something has gone horribly wrong as the man beside the general pushed some buttons and acknowledged the generals order, that the UAV has been launched.
Green.
Why is the portal green? In the small scale tests with the separate modules, the energy discharge was always grayish blue. Opaque, Tamás thought it was called. Not green. Nothing from the tests ever predicted that anything would be green.
-Tamás Német- "Valami nem jó"
He informed the rest of the room. Some heads turned to him, including the general. The UAV launched. It never arrived inside the portal.
Red.
Now there was something red in the portal. Something red and... human shaped? No... there is something coming out of.
OH MY GOD.
-Tamás Német, Brigadier General János Gerezd, and several other members of the controll room team- "ISTENEM"
It had arms, so so many arms. The UAV launched and was smacked to the side and into the concrete wall by some invisible force. It walked strait down the ramp of the Gate on several spider like appandeges instead of legs that clattered and clanked, the tips just bending out from under the robes it wore.
The alarms blared, orders were screamed and the bulkhead started to lower in front of the glass that separated the control room from the portal room. Tamás Német just now wished he also would have gone and played football and fucked chicks instead of watching TV shows and studying for exams. He wished he would never have thirsted for the only thing that this entire story is about.
Knowledge.

Post by Loki Lord of Balance on Sept 15, 2020 5:59:41 GMT
***Somewhere Outside of Space and Time***
For six years he had floated peacefully since his last battle, a battle that had left him broken, beaten, betrayed. He should have died on the cliffs edge. Something, or rather two some-one's had seen fit to change his fate. He floated now, and relived his life, hours, days, weeks, months and soon years had passed, his injuries had healed, the wounds now mere scare tissue. It was peaceful here, in a world he had decided to call The Nether, it was neither cold, nor warm, it was neutral, it was balanced. He sometimes saw flashes of light in the distance, and strings of different colors floated hither and yon, showing different outcomes for different times, though recently they had grown hectic and wild in some, and others had simply blinked from existence. Where once had been a cybernetic eye, there now sat a real eye, a gift from one of his care takers. It was yellow and snake like in appetence, a dark contrast to the silver of his other eye. His tattoos, once the markings of his rank as a powerful Sith Lord where now split, bleached to an almost blinding white on the left with the silver eye, and still their deep black on the side of the yellow eye. The arm taken by his best friend was replaced with a silver arm, it glowed faintly with arcane symbols, many of which had not been seen in eon's relics of a dead era. Every few months, or years, he was tasked by his caretakers with a mission, he would be sent to show balance, to fix time-lines, to protect the very fabric of reality. He relished these times, not for the killing, not for the battle, but for the honor to fix what was broken, when he had fought his last battle vengeance, and despair drove him. He had been told by his Care Takers, that he would see balance, and justice done, but only after a time spent in servitude to them. He wasn't sure why he trusted these beings, but they sought balance, equality, peace. Even through Violent means...
"Warrior of Balance, Balance, Balance..Warrior of Darkness..." "And light...It is time, time, time..." "Your final task awaits, waits, waits waits..." "You are ready, ready, ready..." "But be warned Warrior, You, you you..." "Know what happens this battle will be your true last, last last..." "Go forth and serve in our name, Bogan...and and and.." "And Ashla..La..la..la"
Loki nodded, for years, or what seemed like years, time meant nothing here, they had avoided his probes and questions of their nature, it made sense then, the ancient deities of the Force. Or so they claimed, they had told him early on he may doubt if he wishes, and it is but his nature, to second guess all things before him... He lifted his arms as it suddenly got very warm, and a vision filled his mind. Before him lay strewn a battlefield littered with corpses in white, powerful Force use had been done here, but the world was foreign to him and to his Caretakers another dimension or time stream perhaps? A gray skin Zabrak wounded, and huddled near young armored man, and a few colorful armored figures stood hunched surrounded by men in gray and white armor, hundreds of them, as always these visions showed when he would arrive, as always they where soundless, for some reason he sensed a kinship with the boy and Zabrak, but couldn't fathom why.
Another vision appeared, as with the vision of what he would face, so too came with the vision of his last battle, he refereed to it as such because even though he had fought to protect balance, it was not a battle of his choosing, but a job, a mission...
It was raining lightly, seas crashed below, it was a desolate cliff side. So much had happened since they saved the galaxy from the plague, a hidden figure slowly corrupting Adi, Loki gaining more insight and becoming more balanced, then the rift, and a murder...A murder that had nearly undone all the years of work Loki had made towards redemption. And it was what lead them to this far flung world. "Why did you kill her ADI!?" Loki bellowed, neither of them wore armor, each was drenched, Adi's face was shadowed, hiding the sinister smirk he now wore, but he responded in a normal tone. "She was too dangerous! She had to be removed! No being should have such power! Such foresight! She would have destroyed us all!" Loki shook his head, lies, lies from the hidden figure, she was harmless, her visions could not have harmed anyone, not anyone with good intent, not anyone with balance in their mind, only darkness. And Adi had murdered her, killed her, she had seen it, warned them, and Loki had laughed it off as a mistake, it was his fault. No more words where exchanged, as a beam of red light ignited in front of Loki, rain hissed as it struck. Adi's blade erupted forward, what was once a brilliant pure orange blade, now crackled with red flares and black lightning from within the blade. Loki grew despondent at seeing this, there would be no turning back now. Loki raised his blade, and saluted the soul of his friend, then they charged forward as lightning cracked the sky, and thunder roared the storm matching their intensity... The battle raged blow for blow, until Loki lost his footing, and his arm, Adi kicked him in the chest, his saber flew from his hand and Adi caught it, a valuable Sith relic for him to collect, Loki slid back and teetered on the edge of the cliff, then Adi plunged his blade into Loki's gut, and kicked him off the Cliff, Loki fell, and blackness took him...His last battle.
Back to reality, warmth spread over Loki's naked body, robes enveloped him, as well as a silvery armor that matched his arm. A simple chest plate, vambraces and leg guards. The robes seemed to shift in color, from black to gray and back and again. Loki's eyes snapped open, one glowing silver, the other a deadly yellow, in front of him metalized two sabers one was curved and ornate, almost blinding in its ivory color, the other was the deepest black and matching in curves and detail. They clipped into his Vambraces, the arcane symbols glowing faintly as they attached. Lastly a spear appeared, one end was wicked looking, sinister even, black as night, the other end was silver and leaf shaped, all things balanced, all things contrasting. The spear fit into place on the back of the plate. He was ready. None of these things granted him true protection, however, he had access to all his once ready abilities and a flurry of new ones granted him by Ashla, though he still favored the Darkside in battle, he knew now how to balance his fighting in ways unseen before. He had been warned that an extremely powerful darksider, or light sider, or warriors of different caliber would still be challenging, even deadly to him, he felt confident that he had survived what he had meant to, and knew that the mission he was going on would be his last, maybe not right away, but he knew when he left here, he would only return as one with the Force. Before him a portal opened up, it showed a starry sky, but no ground, no fighting. No, Bogan and Ashla knew his preferred way of joining a battle.
Below, at the weapons depot, Tidus had moved Kekatal and himself outside the bunker, Kek was being seen by one of the Sparten medics, mostly he was exhausted and dehydrated a few wounds, but nothing fatal, there had been a lull, the Spartans had finished off the remaining Arkanian troops topside and so few remained in the bunker that no assault was forthcoming, the battle was over, or so Tidus and his guardian thought. Flashes of light suddenly lit the grounds around them, and rebel troops poured from portals, two hundred all told, armed to the teeth, a few of the Spartans where gunned down the rest herded to the center with Tidus and his wounded friend, twelve Harvesters where leading the men, and they had them surrounded, Tidus was dismayed, after all they had fought for, this is how it ends, his suit klaxonswent off as he prepared for the final onslaught, he would die fighting, Kekatal stood with the help his spear and glared at the warriors surrounding them, sharpened teeth bared. He shouldn't be standing, but he would not die upon the ground. "Traitor to the people of Arkania, Tidus Adasca! You are surrounded!" A robot like voice emitted from one of the Harvester suits. "Iosef is dead! lay down your arms and bow to your king Arkanian warriors!" Kekatal croaked loudly. "Iosef was but a pawn in this game scum! We answer to higher powers than he!" Tidus and Kektal shared a confused look, an order was given for them to drop their weapons, but they refused. "So be it, you have elected the way of death.."
The commander raised his arm, preparing to give the order to fire, no more pleasantries, no more words. His hand fell...And the lights and weapons loosed upon the small huddled mass before them...Blinding overwhelming armor sensors...Nothing could be done...
Loki fell from the sky, the wind whistling, he could see the flares of portals, he knew the time approached.. He readied himself but took a brief moment to enjoy the free fall, the cool air on his skin as he fell at hundreds of feet per second, the ground growing larger and larger. He knew what was about to happen, and still he took that time, because had the time to see it through...Finally a few hundred feet up the force caught him and slowed his descent he could just hear the words of the attackers and saw him raise his hand... As soon as they fired... He kept falling but his hands flew up palms out, the blinding light and smoke erupted as rocket fire, lasers and more shot towards their target exploding and sending flares and plumes of fire into the sky, he fell through it all and drifted to the ground in front of what should have been a smoldering crater, but was instead a huddled group of people, around them shifted a barrier of some sort, only visible to those with the Force, and the fragments of dirt and fire that stuck to it seemingly at random, as the smoke from the weapons fire cleared the Commander was awestruck none of their weapons had struck home, and now a being stood before them dressed strangely, with two colored eyes..Tidus stared in awe as well, before them his back to them stood a being with glowing markings, and strange tattoos, he stood roughly seven feet tall, and work what appeared to be a color shifting robe or cape of some sort. Tidus couldn't for the life of him understand it, but he knew this being, he just did, and then it struck him, one of the glass windows in the palace, a robed Zabrak holding a red light saber with strange markings standing with a blond Adascian, a generation or so before Tidus had been born they had saved the royal family from some calamity or another, his name was Loki, it was why the commander of the Royal guards, used it as a Call-Sign. Though in the mural, the beings tattoos had been symmetrical and he didn't remember him having a metal hand, and his robes had been black as night. "Your highness.." The being said behind him as he stared down the mass of men, suddenly the commander who's helmet had slid open burst out laughing. "One man! HA! We will finish you along with the traitors and other scum who dare defend h-" Loki held up his hand with a single finger. "Silence, I will give you one chance to return to your masters with a message, otherwise I will destroy you all..." His words where met with laughter Loki shook his head as his curved blades flew into his hands. "So be it." The blades ignited, the one was black as knight, the other a blinding crisp white. Loki knew these Harvesters, he had fought them in another time, he also knew that these variants where an early prototype and had no shielding like the later models against The Force.
He cracked his neck once, and charged forward as the enemies before him opened fire, to battle once more...Loki closed into their ranks within a few strides and began attacking them, the shields where strong and his sabers deflected, he quickly dispersed the black blade and unclipped the spear from his back, he flourished it with one hand, and each end began to glow with a different energy source, the wicked end red, the leaf blade blue, and he began to wade into the harvesters, the spear worked like a hot knife through butter, screams could be heard and one man screamed DEMON, over his radio the regular troops kept firing but their blaster fire was deflected by the blinding blur that was the saber, the commander smashed into Loki's back and prepared to strike with his own blade, Loki twisted and slammed the wicked end of the spear in between the chest plate and helm and twisted, the commander fell, he was the last harvester standing, a few of the regular troops lay dead, with holes smoking in their chest, Loki turned towards them, and clipped the spear to his back, they had no energy shields this would be saber work, some of them had tried to fire upon the others but Tidus was now holding up his own Harvester shield and firing volley's as he good as well as Kektal firing from a seated position with his spear. Loki waded into the troops, some went flying when he stomped his foot, as others backed away terrified of the carnage before them, Portals sprang up as different squads issued orders to retreat, a few dozen of their compatriots lay dead, and still more fell, at last only a few remained as Loki bore down on them, three of them scrambled away and opened a portal, urging their comrade to follow suit. Loki disengaged his sabers and held up a hand one of the men flew forward into his grasp. "I have a message for you to deliver...Tell them the Demon lives, and he will see the rightful King of Arkania on his throne." Loki once upon a time would have slaughtered them to a man, but as some squads hesitated weapons raised Loki released the man and tossed him towards a waiting portal. "Mercy...Is yours." He said pointing at the remaining men, who didn't hesitate and quickly portals opened, almost as quickly as the battle had begun it had ended. Loki stood breathing deeply, he had not used this much energy in years. But he also knew, that it would be some time before he fought again, for now, he would be training, and helping, he turned his head and looked at the two young men, not sure why he felt such kinship to them, perhaps they where reincarnations or something of the sort.. He strode over to them and kneeled before Tidus. "I am Loki, Warrior of Balance, of Light and Darkness, and for a time, I shall serve you, as the rightful heir to the Arknian throne.."
