At one time, this facility processed the storage of military hardware, and facilitated the destruction of expired munitions. Now? It harbored the Arkanian forces that had slipped through time and space to end up here, on Earth-420. It was manned by a skeleton crew of soldiers...civilian contractors hired to protect what was supposed to be a soft facility. These troops who were easily overwhelmed when the Arkanians came through the portals in support of one Iosef Adasca.
Upon the taking of the base, they set about beginning to fortify it, but being a hardened, mountain facility buried deep in the granite, it was relatively impervious to anything but a frontal assault. Even that would be ill-advised, with the heavy blast doors, and windy corridors to confuse the enemy forces that might attack.
The surface contains a basic military base, with barracks, chow hall, administrative facilities, etc, but the main base is hidden within, and under, the mountains at its Eastern border. There, hidden behind a blast door covered by the very stone that once resided there, was a high-tech facility, complete with airlock-style chambers at the entrance....four sets of large, heavy blast doors where only one would open at a time, and took some time to unseal. There were also weapon stations, using both the US Army technology that was found, and things the Arkanian forces had brought with them. Inside each airlock, there were four 6 barrel, 20mm miniguns with several thousand rounds, with the last having two rotary blaster cannons added into the mix. All of these weapons were driven by a 360 degree laser grid detection field. Without the proper FoF identifiers, the weapons would open fire, to keep the secrets behind the airlocks safe.
Where most people thought that Area 51 contained the alien corpses from Roswell, it was actually here that they had found their final resting place, inside the massive lab on the lowest level of the ten-level complex. Each level further deeper required more secure access, with only the top tier being able to get into the bottom three. More weapons, both energy and solid projectile, filled the hallways and elevators, each connected to an automated camera system. which fed into the security center, on level six.
Part of the lower level lab had been converted into a holding area for both Loki and Prince Adasca, in anticipation of their capture.

Iosef Adasca made his way down the hall on level ten of the pilfered military ammo dump. There, in separate areas, both the saber containing the suit that Tidus had been wearing, along with Tidus himself were being held. They had finally captured him, a token of their power. Even with the kid's new upgraded suit, they had subdued him. Granted, it had taken sacrificing one of the powerful Harvester Mk I suits, but it was so very worth it.
Besides, the new prototype was almost ready anyway. Once that was complete, this...'thing'.... that Tidus had made would be rendered effectively obsolete. Still, Iosef wished to know what made it tick.
He entered the lab where there were nearly a dozen different techs working on trying to get the suit out of the lightsaber. To this point, all they had been able to find out that it was residing in the kyber focusing crystal of Tidus' weapon. He asked one of the techs about the progress, and was far from happy when he heard that little had been made.
"Figure it OUT! There has to be a way to...."
At the sound of Iosef raising his voice, the black goo began to ooze from within the saber, and within moments had formed inside of the capsule it was contained in. With a roar, it lunged at the side of the containment unit, pounding on it, clawing at it, but leaving little more than some fine scratches on the thick, reinforced glass.
"So, it's not a battlesuit at all. It's an alien.....no wonder he was able to counter my moves so efficiently. I thought it was just programming and fancy gadgets again." Iosef approached the cage of the snarling creature, surprised to see that it was of a different structure now....more crystalline and spiky in appearance. Where was the heavy, massive, powerful beast he had fought earlier? This was actually kind of pathetic. It wasn't more than six feet tall, skinny, and weak. Leaning into the glass, though, he could see the black fangs, and sharp, diamond-like claws that had nearly skewered him. "Fascinating. I don't know where you came from, but you will never see the boy again. He won't be alive for more than another hour or two.
I have plans for my nephew. You will come later. We will cut you to pieces, figure out what goes on inside that empty little head of yours." Neuroxis, enraged at the mention of harm to the one who he had so valiantly tried to protect earlier, roared and lunged at the glass again....and again...trying with all his might to get out. The only thing it seemingly was able to do was scratch the thick panes.
However, Neuroxis took notice of something that the others in the room had overlooked. This cage was made of glass....and he was, in essence, a living lightsaber crystal. He just needed to absorb a little bit more power, and he could, quite literally, cut himself out of here, and get to Tidus. Until that moment, though, it was best to keep appearances. He continued to rage, while Iosef just laughed at him outside.
"You'll have your chance soon enough, you ugly son of a bitch." Turning back to the techs, he spoke to them. "Keep observing him. If there are any major changes in his behavior, or structure, notify me immediately. I am going to pay a visit to the Prince."
Turning toward the door, he exited the lab, and headed toward the holding area where Tidus was being detained.

The Loyal servant had not stayed with their new allies long once his prince was captured, however had left them with a comlink so that he could find them later. He had followed at a distance the hovercraft that had taken the Prince, using his suits stealth technology. He seethed with anger, he should not have allowed Tidus to fight alone, and despite his Princes wishes he could have easily helped fight Iosef and his harvesters, sure their armors where powerful but they did not have his skill or power. Now he waited outside their mountain base, he wondered how they had so quickly discovered and found this location and with a twinge of anger he respected the fortifications, Arkanians where anything if not resourceful. Loki could see a few of the traitorous scum scurrying around like the pallid insects they where. How dare they betray his Queen, his Princes, his family. He seethed with rage and it pulsated within him. He had been granted many gifts by his relationships with the Royal family including access to forbidden texts, texts Sith Lords would give their body's to possess, but one thing they did not give him, but was his birthright as a Dathomiran Zabrak was his connection to the Force, He was born to protect and bond with Nightsisters, however was deemed to powerful in the Darkside at early age and was offered instead to the Adascan throne as a peace barter. He was raised among them, his abilities fostered, his powers honed, however unlike A Sith, or other Dark-Sider his power was steeped in nobility, honor and power, he craved it like a being lost in the desert craves water. It's what fueled his connection to the power he so craved, but his loyalty kept him from the corruption so usually attached to the Darkside, he was as one of his trainers once said the perfect weapon, enhanced, loyal, incorruptible. He was proof that the Dark-Side wholly does not corrupt but that it was the Sith ideology that corrupted it's users. He shook his head, that time was passed on. He had a mission, if he knew Iosef and he did, he didn't have long, he had studied the approach long enough, by his estimation, there were three to four Harvesters plus Iosef himself and around a thousand ground troops, if he played his cards right and got Tidus that armor back they might just make it out of this alive, or die an honorable death trying.
With that he launched silently into the air, his armor bending light around him to render him virtually invisible the two guards standing watch fell to the ground silently, their throats slit from his blade, his helm opened and he spit at both their corpses as he picked up each and flung it off the side of the mountain. Then he trudged forward...The demon had arrived.

One of the technicians in the security center, in charge of monitoring the exterior security and forces patrolling it, saw two blips on his screen. Two of the troopers in the outer edges of the above-ground base were flatlined. He tried to contact them, but to no avail. This meant one of two things. One, there was the exact same glitch in the systems where both soldiers' equipment failed in exactly the same manner at the exact same time...which was to say, highly unlikely...or, there was an intruder that had eliminated them. Scans, however, showed nothing out of the ordinary, except the visual confirmation that there were two missing troopers from their rounds.
There was no time to waste. The tech immediately notified his superior, who in turn relayed the message to Iosef.
"He's finally come for the boy." The elder Adasca licked his lips hungrily. He had been looking forward to this showdown with the Zabrak interloper. Ultimately, all of this was -his- fault. For those injustices, he would die a most painful death. Turning to Tidus, he found the lad unconscious. Reaching down, he grabbed the bucket of water, and threw it into the face of the beaten, tortured, and bleeding Prince. Immediately, Tidus' head shot up, and looked around weakly. He saw the face of his Uncle Iosef...the one who had caused his current plight.
"Your Zabrak lapdog has come to save you, Prince. You will live long enough to see me peel the flesh from his worthless carcass before you perish....and then I will personally cut your throat." With not another word, Iosef turned, and walked down to the other end of the hall. There, in a glass case, the completed Mk II Harvester unit. Again, a wicked smile passed the older man's lips as he pressed the keys to open the case. With a hiss, it slid open, and the armor began to come online. It was a masterpiece....stronger, faster, and more powerful in every way than the Mk I unit.....and it would be first used to kill Kakatal.
Moving up the two steps, Iosef took only a short moment to examine the armor before it opened, and he stepped inside. Immediately, it closed back up, and the HUD came to life. All systems were showing green. He was ready. With a nod, and orders given to the others to keep a very close eye on their captives, he made his way to the elevator, and the surface beyond.

"L...Loki....No....."
No...it couldn't be. Not again. Not Kakatal....
This was the last straw. His uncle had taken -everyone- from him. In one night, the opposing forces had struck the castle complex, and set about on an unprecedented slaughter. This would not happen again. Iosef would not take any more life...not while Tidus still had breath in his lungs. Still, he was beaten to a bloody pulp at the moment. He wouldn't be much good...unless he could get his saber back.
Well, there was the goal.
Two of the men who piloted the other Harvester suits came in, and took Tidus down from the rack he had been hanging on, and began to drag him back toward his holding cell. He faded in and out of consciousness, awake long enough to catch glimpses of his surroundings. Suddenly, Tidus could feel his head being almost pulled to one side...and his eyes fell upon the containment unit holding Neuroxis. It was -right there-.....the means to protect everyone he cared about that remained...the way to stop even the most powerful armor his uncle could deploy.....
...the means to end this conflict once and for all.
Rage began to build deep within Tidus...and the force began to pool around him. He felt powerless to do anything....despair, pain, anguish...it all filled his psyche. He had truly had enough of this...all of it. He was tired of hurting. He was tired of looking over his shoulder. He was, most of all, just sick and tired of Iosef's incessant whining about his damaged pride. He knew nothing of true pride...it was all a construct in his mind, one fit to the needs of his greed, and evil nature. Tidus began to struggle against his captors, but they held fast, and tried to drag him more rapidly across the tile floor. Now, however, Tidus wasn't going so willingly. The force continued to pool, and concentrate within him. He could feel it, the strange tingle at the back of his neck. It was something he had never truly experienced, although Loki had tried to tell him about it. The young lad had always been too interested in his machines to pay much attention to the Zabrak's teachings at the time, but he now knew of what the Gray Demon of Arkania spoke. He could feel it building, the force guiding him. It was as if he was on autopilot right now...singularly focused on one goal....
...getting out of here, and now.
There was what felt like an eternity where Tidus felt himself totally immersed in a raging torrent of power, even though it was but a moment. Everything around him seemed to stop, the entire world around him slowing to a near crawl. He again turned to look at the symbiote, trapped in it's glass cage, clawing and ripping at the glass to get out. It was then that the young prince felt what he had to do...he somehow just knew it....and he released the entirety of the power that had been filling him in a massive scream....and it rippled forth from his body in all directions, throwing the ones holding him away from him, and bouncing down the hall rather unceremoniously. Every single pane of glass on the floor shattered in an instant, exploding all around, and flying in all directions. The cage holding the symbiote, too, was shattered, and immediately, the creature grabbed the lightsaber, and grinned. In a blur, it dashed through the lab, grabbing the power core on its way through, and then to Tidus. The symbiote caught Tidus, engulfing the kid as he started to fall to the ground from sheer exhaustion due to the massive force scream.
"We gotcha, kid....now, let's get the hell OUT of here!!!"
Instantly, Tidus felt the rejuvenating power of the symbiote return to him, rejuvenating him, and giving him strength. Reaching for one of the electronic panels, the now-reunited Neuroxis created claws on his hands, and drove them into the screen. The electricity began to flow into him, and he grew brighter with every passing moment as the electric current recharged him. Now? Anyone that was unlucky enough to stand in their way? They would pay, and pay dearly.
It was time to show Iosef Adasca what a true Prince of his line was capable of.

Loki had now entered the main facility, his killing of now six sentries had not gone unnoticed. However he was still undetected. He now stood before blast doors to the main facility. There where six guards in a crescent formation in front of it, they looked uneasy. They whispered about The gray ghost, to many Arkanians, Arde was a myth, a figment of children's imaginations, they whispered about him, and not any of the men Iosef had brought with him worked in the palace proper, they did not know the Ghost was real, and he was angry. He strode forward until he was standing before one of them, then he appeared before the man, he screamed, as the others fell back or tripped over themselves, pathetic peasant rabble that they where. "TRAITORS ONE AND ALL" Loki bellowed as his blade slammed home into the man's chest, his scream died as blood gurgled out of his mouth, then Loki twisted, another man's head went flying, still another was flung away twisting in agony slamming into the blast doors with enough concussive force to break his spine, the three remaining guards began wantonly blasting at him and his blade spun sending one back and the others into the walls, the one took a blaster bolt to the face as Loki's blade slammed home, thrown from where he stood, suddenly he flew forward, and grabbed the last man by the throat. "The door code traitor? WHAT IS IT!?" He yelled squeezing the man's throat, the man gurgled a response. "R..ot...in fires of Oz..mitre you royal dog!" Loki grunted and squeezed the man's throat until there was a resounding crack then threw his corpse aside, they had elected the way of pain and he would deliver there where other ways to crack blast doors.
Loki turned to face the doors and titled his head, he could feel a large body of troops on the other side, they had heard the muffled bangs and screams, and the bellows Loki had made, Loki's blade slunk away into his armor as he held up both hands, at the same time his armors active camo began to activate as the doors creaked and churned and then buckled. With a loud snap they popped free and flew back in explosive way, pieces of metal flying from the edges, the men on the other side would see not an enemy or living friends but nothing, Loki stood to the side away from them, all they would see is an empty room and dead comrades. Then Loki dove once more into a frenzy, now with a snap hiss his duel bladed dark blue saber flared to life, wielded to them as though by nothing, there where screams of the Gray ghost, and a demon among them as their brothers fell, all the while a voice hailed lamentations of their betrayal upon them, those in the rear turned and fled the way they had come, most likely towards where Iosef was coming, panicked and terrified, for the Ghost had arrived, and he craved vengeance.

They were streaming back into the depths of the base, fleeing before the power of the Adasca's 'Gray Demon'. It was a pathetic showing, and Iosef stood in front of them, stopping the entire group of panicked soldiers. They would fight, or he would kill them where they stood. They saw the Harvester Mk II armor standing, and the fear they had felt in the face of Loki now paled in comparison. They were stunned for a moment, at least until Iosef took a step forward. As a group, they did the same, then suddenly turned around, tentatively making their way back to the entrance of the base.
They were truly pathetic weaklings. Iosef was ashamed to call them his troops. Still, cannon fodder had its uses.
Activating the stealth system, Iosef's suit vanished. The speed boost system was kicked in, and sent him at an extremely rapid speed down the hallway, and to the final blast door. Using the remote access from his suit, he keyed in the code, and it groaned as it slid open. On the other side, bodies stacked on bodies, and nothing else.
Iosef would let the pawns go forth, and draw him out.
The men moved forward, and began to search for their target.
-Tenth Level-Holding cells, and laboratory level-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Further inside the complex, the battle on the tenth lower level was heating up. The three Harvester-equipped soldiers had tried to engage the now-charged Neuroxis, and it was not going very well for them at all. One of them was in a crumpled heap at the end of the hall, unconscious and nearly dead. The other two were trying, but alas, they had not figured out that the symbiote quite literally ATE the energy blasts they kept throwing at him. It was almost too easy for Tidus and his new symbiote friend to separate one from the other, and ripped one of them in half at the waist.
With blood still dripping from his hands, Neuroxis turned with a dark, fanged smile toward the only one left conscious. He wasted no time, and dashed forward, to within a few inches of the other man's face.
"Exit your suit, and leave it here. Evacuate this place. Go home. Tell the others to do the same...or I will come for them." Seeing his opportunity, the trooper did as he was told. He climbed out of the suit, and ran as fast as he could the other direction. Not wanting to waste time, Neuroxis began to engulf the Mark I Harvester, pulling Tidus into it with him. Within a few seconds, it had been engulfed, and integrated into the venerable battle armor. Flexing his fingers, and looking it over, Neuroxis grinned evilly.
This would do nicely.
Making his way to the....elevator? Is that what they called turbolifts here on Earth?.....Tidus made his way in, headed to the surface.

*The "Aequitas" launched from the ventral bays of the "Eternity", looking as though it were "dropped" from within the ship itself due to its perpendicular debarkation. A short inversion and course-correction later, and she was on her way toward the blue-green planet at high velocity; thanks to both the gravity of the planet and the agile nature of the vessel itself. On the bridge, Kase stood with the Captain while his Fireteam was down in the docking bay, prepping the Prowler for takeoff. The Spartan observed Montrose to be an interesting sort; the way he commanded his bridge was unique all on its own. He kept using code phrases, like telling the helmsman to increase velocity by "giving it a little gas" and performing the course-correction by "flipping her over so she can get some more sun on her back". The crew was so used to his mannerisms that they would only grin and perform their duties with sheer efficiency. Once the vessel was performing its re-entry sequence, the Captain stood stoically on the higher platform behind the command console, Kase just a few steps behind him, and Montrose's XO just two consoles from his left. The Major's MJOLNIR suit was compensating for the inertial drift, mag-locking the Spartan to the deck while stiffening his joints so he didn't shake about during the small bit of turbulence. When the ship broke through the atmospheric barrier into the upper stratosphere, the inertial dampeners kicked in fully, and the Captain quickly turned to his XO, nodding toward Kase.*
Cpt. Montrose: "Lieutenant, you have the Conn. Major, walk with me?"
*The two of them continued on, heading off the bridge toward the lifts.**The Captain was a good deal shorter than Kase, even more so while the Spartan was in his armor. Still, he stood tall, with a demeanor that was equal parts confidence and swagger. He had an atypical hairstyle for a Captain, and didn't bother wearing his cover aboard ship; it was a bit longer than usual, tied back into a rogue knot with a purple band. Kase meant to ask him about the interesting color choice, but he decided against it, seeing as they were moving quickly for this operation and he didn't want to bother the Captain unnecessarily.*
Cpt. Montrose: "All right, Major, I just wanted to see you off before the op began. UCAV resources are currently in the area, sending in TAC data that we'll be relaying to your HUD via TACCOM. From what we're seeing, it looks like the yard is currently unoccupied, and the front door is -- well, it's gone. Our initial plans are changing, but hey, we adapt, right?"
Kase: *Nods* "Hell yeah, sir. That's the aim. My team will take point, while the ODST's secure the main yard and the entrance. If we encounter heavy resistance, I trust the 'Aequitas' can provide backup?"
Cpt. Montrose: "Of course, sir." *He paused for a moment, offering a smirk to the Major.* "By the way, interesting armor color. Back in my wilder days, I actually used to dye my hair like that."
*Kase was amused by that. He had his helmet on, which masked his grin on his face, but it came through in his tone.*
Kase: "Purple? Really?"
Cpt. Montrose: "Oh, yes. Even had matching contacts to really piss off the Brass. That was back during my piloting days, though. Before they gave me the 'Aequitas', they made one of the stipulations for my command that I had to get rid of it. It was actually listed, straight in the paperwork. I kid you not."
*The two of them shared a laugh for a moment, and then the Captain seemed to sober up and shot Kase a look that suggested the "fun" part was over.
Cpt. Montrose: "Good hunting, Major. Go show 'em what Spartans can do."
Kase: *Nods* "Aye-aye, sir! What the UNSC can do! Good luck, Captain!"
*The two parted ways, Kase stepping into the lifts while the Captain returned to the bridge. It would take about fifteen minutes before the ship would reach its target zone, and Kase needed that time to get his team ready.**As it approached, the "Aequitas" received surveillance footage from the UCAVs that suggested the base was beginning to see some activity above-ground. Troops were beginning to pour out of the entrance by the dozens, moving to secure the main yard and checking the fallen to see if any were still alive. They all wore the same shining white armor with black accents, each of them carrying similar weaponry. It wouldn't take long before the lot of them were in place - hundreds, from the look of things. They now had gun emplacements, barricades, and plenty of soldiers strewn throughout the yard. As the Prowler launched with Fireteam VERITAS on board, Kase was looking over the new footage through his HUD. It would require some doing, but, Kase was beginning to form a plan.*
Kase: "Prowler-1 to 'Aequitas', do you copy?"
Cpt. Montrose: ::"Prowler-1, this is 'Aequitas' - go ahead."::
Kase: "I'm gonna need to clear us an LZ before we touch down. Could you give us a hand with that?"
Cpt. Montrose: ::"Rolling out the red carpet for you now. Be advised, we recommend that you maintain current vector, decrease speed. We wouldn't want you to get caught in the crossfire."::
Kase: "Roger that, 'Aequitas'. You have our thanks."
*Kase did as he had been advised. Back aboard the 'Aequitas', Captain Montrose looked over the rest of the bridge from the command deck. In a very direct, calm tone, he addressed his crew.*
Cpt. Montrose: "Ok, folks...looks like our 'hosts' have forgotten to lay out the welcome mat. Let's rectify that for them, shall we? Ensign?" *He receives an affirmative from them.* "Arm all Archer pods and coordinate with UCAVs for targeting solution; Next Door Neighbor? Do the same, but with the Big Damn Gun. Fire all Archer pods on my order and hold MAC rounds for any stragglers...ready? And...MARK!"
*The Strident-class frigate opens fire with both pods, launching several dozen rockets before pausing to reload. The missiles arc out from the vessel along multiple vectors, leaving a harrowing trail of smoke behind as they screamed toward their targets. It must have looked like the Flight of the Valkyries from where the Stormtroopers were standing. The Prowler had since engaged its stealth drive, the active camouflage enveloping the ship, rendering it invisible. Just after the launch, the vessel released its two ship-docked Pelicans. Within were several squads of ODST troopers, armed with assault rifles, shotguns, and all manner of remorseless pieces of metal. Being that it was the Assault variant of Pelican dropship, it also had railgun turrets and a front-mounted rotary cannon capable of mowing down most opposition before the soldiers would even have to deploy. The two Pelicans also transported their own Gauss-variant Warthog jeeps, used for quick deployment and transport on the ground, as well as holding a position with mobile heavy firepower.*
*The Archer missiles homed in on their targets, the initial salvo beginning to pelt the opposition in a hellfire of massive proportions. The cannon emplacements and heavy barricades were the first to be melted away, followed by the larger groupings of heavy troops in quick succession. Kase maneuvered the Prowler over the base, activating the ship's VTOL hardware as well as its autopilot. They were still holding at well over 5,000 feet, the active camo systems still functioning, as Kase exited the pilot's seat and made his way back to the cargo area. Gearing up, he addressed the rest of Fireteam VERITAS before the drop.*
Kase: "Okay, Prowler's in VTOL over the base. I've uploaded TACCOM data into your HUDs, so you know what's down there, same as I do. We know what we're here to do: secure the 'asset', neutralize any hostile forces that get in the way. If you run into the individual piloting the larger suit, aim to disable and capture using these--" *He brandishes the armor-locking mechanism designed by ONI to neutralize the Spartan MJOLNIR systems. The failsafes had been removed from these, though, because ONI couldn't account for how redundant the alien systems were with regards to electrostatic feedback.* "If you feel yourselves to be threatened at any time, you are authorized to use lethal force in order to secure your safety. Do not get separated from the rest of the team, I'm looking at you, Nat. You're too curious, Lil' Sis."
*The others sort of chuckle, and Nat shrugs.*
Nat: "Hey, at least my curiosity panned out. That whole facility would've been lit up like a stack of fireworks if I hadn't found their leader when I did."
Kase: "True, but if Eva hadn't tapped that patrol you'd overlooked..."
*Nat walked over near Eva, exchanging a rap of their forearm braces while she moved by.*
Nat: "Hey, that's why I'm glad my girl's got my back! Can't trust Bray to do it, now, can I?"
Eva: *Chortles* "He'd be too busy staring at your ass or something."
*Bray scoffed, then made a gesture like he was dusting his shoulder off before giving Eva the finger. Kase was okay with a little ball-busting, but he realized he needed to rein it in before they all became distracted.*
Kase: "Right, well, there's too many unknowns in this situation - so stick to formation, have each other's backs, and let's get home. Agreed?"
All: "Yes, sir!"
*Something else was bothering Kase...the look of that orange and black suit. Even as he was checking his Battle Rifle over one last time, he tapped the stock nervously.*
Kase: "One more thing - that suit, with the biological skin...if you encounter it at any point, and it looks to be hostile, you are allowed to engage. I realize our target is supposed to be part of that...thing, but I won't have it or anyone else threaten my team, understood?" *He received affirmatives from them once more.* "Good. Let's move, VERITAS! 'Tip of the spear, rim of the glass, we move without fear, cuz--'"
All: "'--We own their ass!'"
*The group laughed a little, reciting their old "good luck" mantra that Kase had taught them back during their days in training aboard the secret training facility they came to call "Tartarus Station". It served to alleviate their mood, getting them relaxed and ready for the task at hand -- which was, without a doubt, a risky proposition at best. Opening the cargo bay doors, the wind whistled into the cabin. Kase looked out over the edge, the drifting clouds barely masking the sight of the base - which was barely bigger than a dot - down below. He looked at Eva, motioning with hand gestures for her to keep her eyes locked on the ground forces. She, being their long-range specialist - would be able to use her high-grade sniper rifle to clear any immediate threats before the group even dropped to the ground. The smoke from the missiles' impact wasn't even reaching them yet, so Eva would be relying on her motion tracking HUD to help navigate the blinding effect of the smoke. She eased herself over the edge of the bay's opening, beginning her freefall. Kase sent out Natalie next, followed by Bray. With one more deep breath to collect himself, he exited behind them.*
*The drop was standard for Spartans. No parachutes, no "safety nets", just rapid descent and the MJOLNIR's booster jets to help guide them and land them safely. He synchronized his HUD feeds with that of Eva's, knowing the rest of the team was doing the same. Nat, of course, would be cycling through different HUD filters, trying to find which one worked best for her; Bray would be scanning the whole field trying to find the best drop point and uploading the target zone to the team's HUD. The icon showed up quickly, marking a spot about 150m from the front entrance, away from the smoldering fires of the blast zone, but still offering some cover for them in case things got dicey. Kase saw the two Pelicans on-approach, their weapons systems already engaging the enemy. Rail shot after rail shot pounded the front lines, sending troopers flying this way and that. Kase hated that they were having to engage live people. Taking down Prometheans or the Flood seemed so much easier, by comparison. At least there, "taking a life" meant that you were offering some sort of solace to those who were trapped in that wretched state. Here, these were just soldiers, doing their duty. Still, Kase understood that in battle, everyone makes a choice as to where they stand. These soldiers were no different; they were simply on the opposing side. That meant that they had to be neutralized.*
*Eva's longshot snapped Kase back to the reality that they were reaching ground. He saw her HUD feed blink each time a hit registered with the rifle. She had already taken out four soldiers for four shots, likely either officers or ones operating a hard-target such as a turret or heavy weapon. Kase knew that she wouldn't attempt a reload mid-flight, so that was all the vanguard support that she would be able to offer until they touched down. He watched her adjust her course shortly after, heading for the drop zone and dropping back to allow Bray to take point with his DMR. With the ground quickly coming up, he had a chance to use the gun's exceptional range and single shot variant to take out five or six more stragglers before deciding to duck out and move to the drop point. Nat was also on her way, so Kase chose to follow, aiming himself toward one of the stacks of cargo containers on the far side of the LZ. His boosters began to engage, and he felt the heave hit him in the gut like a stack of bricks. As soon as his feet touched the metal of the containers, he dropped to a kneeling position and took aim toward the entrance. The few soldiers that were left were so spread out and in such disarray that it was difficult to pick a target. Still, he focused on what he was seeing, taking his shot at the soldiers who were moving toward what barricades were left standing, dropping targets with the burst fire of his Battle Rifle. As he felt the lightness of the rifle mixed with the tell-tale "pinging" noises suggesting his clip was low, he readied his next clip just as the ammo from the last one was spent. A quick exchange later, and the fresh magazine was inserted, Kase pulling back the hammer to load the first rounds in the chamber while locating the entrance through his Sentinel sight. With a flex of his eyelid, his suit's internal HUD updated the TEAMCOM with a fixed Navpoint, focused on the entrance itself. He motioned for the team to move forward, even as he was addressing the ODSTs that had dropped in.*
Kase: ::"Attention all ODST personnel, your orders are to engage the enemy, fire-at-will and secure this yard for exfil, acknowledge?"::
*There was a double-tap on Kase's comm frequency, the ODST signal for "orders received" while in the field. He heard shouts in the distance, the officers giving orders to their squads, and heard the Warthogs starting up and beginning to roll toward the entrance. If he bothered to keep listening, it wouldn't be long before the first thundering screech rang out from the Gauss cannons fixed on the vehicle's weapons platform. Kase didn't waste any time, either, as he sprang forward; his suit's boosters granting him even greater speed as he leapt from the top of the containers to the ground below, falling in behind Nat and Bray while Eva secured the rear guard. The opposition was minimal as the team advanced, and it wasn't long before they stood in front of the entrance to the facility, weapons drawn, ready to combat whatever lay before them.*

Loki stood in the middle of the hall as the blast doors slid open to reveal, well nothing. Loki had forgone his sabers a few moments before, killing the last few barehanded, though his active camo still covered him, he could sense the Elder Adasca standing there, though it was through flickers, the Ysalamir blood doing its job, but the suits had yet to find a way to make it work like the creatures themselves so the extent only extended to direct force attacks. Which suited the Zabrak just fine. "Oh Iosef, how it must grate you to be second best to not only a boy, but an Alien outsider as well, tell me does it still sting knowing how I shattered every record you ever set?" "Loki's voice seemed to echo from all sides, it resounded off the walls. "How I set new standards for what it meant to be...The best." Loki was incorporating a semi-dead art, Dun Moch, mockery, goading, and Iosef was an easy mark, headstrong and oh so angry. "Is that why you betrayed our Queen? Your duty? Because of what I did? Stealing your birthright, I stole NOTHING TRAITOR, I EARNED MY PLACE." Loki bellowed, despite them being underground a breeze seemed to strike up, sending debris and other things shifting. Loki raised a hand and began to move quickly and with stealth to the side however, an almost perfect illusion formed where he had previously stood, blade in hand, it seemed to simmer as though it's active camo was dissipating it lifted its blade and pointed it at the empty space where Iosef stood. "SHOW YOURSELF COWARD FIGHT ME LIKE A TRUE ARKANIAN OR AM I MORE ARKANIAN THAN YOU'LL EVER HOPE TO BE?!" The real Loki began to crawl up the wall almost spider-like in his approach though of course nobody could see this as the illusion seemed to speak though Loki merely threw his voice into its location.. The warriors behind Iosef muttered to themselves though all they saw was the illusion.

Hell rained down from above, as the base was attacked by a fairly advanced military force. The troopers that had moved on out into the outside area near the secure facility's entrance tried to engage the troopers streaming down, but between the artillery coming down from above, and the firepower the troopers themselves had, the Arkanian Royals stood no chance. They were mowed down wholesale, their equipment and weapons shattered in a matter of seconds. Only a handful of holdouts remained, and they weren't trying to do much as far as fighting. They were in survival mode now, taking a pot shot here and there if the opportunity presented itself.
As for Iosef, however, he had remained inside, waiting for the "Ghost" to show his face. Iosef took a couple of steps toward the mirage before realizing that it wasn't as it seemed. The elder Adasca stopped, and laughed....the taunts of the alien interloper just made Iosef want to kill Kakatal even more. Acquiescing to the protector of the prince, he dropped his active camo.
"You are all words...smoke and mirrors, Zabrak. Show yourself, so that I may look you in the eyes when I run you through."
The capabilities of this Mk II Harvester far surpassed what the original was able to do, and it should make short work of the unholy bastard that had taken so much of his honor.

One Step, Two Step, DIELoki was above the door now crawling on the ceiling his armor doing most of the work as he positioned himself just right, the naginata blades began to form in each hand while his legs held him in place, Iosef strode forward and deactivated his camo. Loki inwardly snarled as explosions rocked the facility from above, it seemed help had arrived. Loki breathed deeply as a dozen thoughts rocketed around his mind. How had it come to this? The Queen was most likely dead, Iosef held control of the masses, and now they fought on some backwater planet possibly not even in their own reality. Loki exhaled his mind suddenly cleared, and all he saw was the kill, after all, he had a job and a duty to fulfill, Iosef may have lost himself, but Kakatal had not...
His armor shifted and suddenly his active camo shifted off. The back of his back armor opened and the boosters flared to life, matching even that the new Harvester lines could produce in terms of speed, he couldn't do it over the distances they could, not in the slightest, but over a short drop of 10 feet? It was like he teleported, spinning as he did so, he slammed both blades in a downward motion, sharper and designed to penetrate the very nanotubes that made up the Adascian armor, one for each shoulder, combined with Kakatal's thrust and speed, each should sink deeply into the backs of Iosef's shoulders, Loki then flipped between each following through if they strike home by thruster kicking Iosef in the back sending him flying forward ripping the blades through armor, flesh and sinew. Iosef always underestimated those he deemed under him, but perhaps he should have thought better of being goaded by one who had bested not one, not two but five Harvesters alone? Pride cometh before the fall, or so the Arkainan's said.

So, he didn't want to show himself. Pathetic, really....the very one that "Loki" wanted to kill was standing here, and he was just going to either be sneaky, and try a stealth attack...or he was just that much of a coward that he was now hiding.
For all of his big talk, the Zabrak was -not- putting forth a good show.
That is, until the guns in the hallway found a target...that was right above Iosef. As soon as the Zabrak unmasked his camouflage, the still-functioning guns....*Two of the miniguns, and one of the rotary blasters had been destroyed when Kakatal blasted the doors* whirred around, drawing attention to the one hanging on the ceiling. Instantly, the boosters launched Iosef forward as the Zabrak came down, fully intending on skewering the elder Adasca. The guns found their target as Loki would hit the ground, and opened up. Sure, they would more than likely not penetrate the shielding of the armor designed by Tidus, but it had been enough to keep him alive.
The Gray Demon had nearly claimed another.
================================================================== Tenth Floor-lab level ==================================================================
The Prince had nearly reached the elevator, when out of nowhere, a stasis field dropped on him. Neuroxis roared....how could he have fallen for the same damn trick?? This time, however, there was a difference. The Harvester battlesuit had an electronic disruptor, allowing for the slightest bit of movement.....
It would be enough....
A group of elite troops that had been dispatched to the lab level began approaching the Orange and black symbiote, and attempted to reach yet again for the suit's power core. However, this time, a burst of energy shot from within the core of the alien-encased armored Arkanian, and the stasis field generator was instantly off-line....
...The poor bastard that was reaching for the power core never even knew what hit him. Neuroxis' crystalline skin seemingly exploded, throwing thousands of tiny shards of superheated crystal into everyone in the room....killing them instantly. Glowing orange and black crystal needles filled the room, sticking in the walls, equipment that hadn't been destroyed, lights, fixtures...everywhere. It was throwing an eerie orange light throughout the now-darkened room. Neuroxis roared, looking around the room, and seeing no one.
Damn....that was too quick....next time, he would wait to use that attack. There was no time to savor their fear.

Kakatal did not growl, or make any noise as his quarry evaded his attack, he merely reacted. The boosters on his suit twisted and one of his feet touched the ground, he twisted himself and launched forward kicing off the ground. The elder Adasca was only a few meters ahead, Loki's naginata like blade slid away while he launched forward hoping to grab the Harvester by the back and launch him straight into the wall. All the while the automatic gun emplacements, slammed into Loki's shield, his suit in turn took that energy and applied it to the boosters, pushing him forward at unparalleled speed. Loki's gauntlets formed claw like appendages as he hit him and dug into the shields as feedback from both suits caused sparks and flares of light, all the while moving them forward, Loki however could not account for the Harvesters own booster system, but since Iosef was facing forward and Loki was not, he believed he would have a modicum more of control than the traitor he so wished to destroy. "You will die here today.." He whispered into the comms system that all Adascian tech shared.

The gray bastard was fast, that was for sure. He was on Iosef before the elder Adasca could even react, and was slammed into the wall....immediately breaking a rib. Kakatal would pay for that....However, again, the gray zabrak was in motion, and attacking like a rabid vornskr. His claws tore into the rear shielding, and actually penetrated somewhat, leaving long rips in the phrik/cnt plates covering the outside of the suit.
Paint damage and a broken rib would -not- slow him down however.
With a twist, and burst from the repulsor system, he was above Kakatal, and facing him. Immediately reversing thrust, Iosef was launched back toward his foe. A barrage of microrockets equipped with flashblinders was fired.....aimed to go off when Iosef was coming in to strike. Regardless of how the micro rockets fared, Iosef would then attempt to fly directly into Loki, spearing him with his left shoulder, right around the warrior's midriff. In this, Iosef was attempting to drive him outside the mountain base....into the pure hell outside the mouth of the underground facility. As he would drive the zabrak out, he would slam his right fist into the kidney area of Kakatal. Sure, it would hit shields, but the impact might still make its way through, seeing as the strength enhancement system was more powerful than even the venerable Mk I armor.
"Records at a school mean NOTHING in battle, you pinheaded freak. The only things that mean something when they are broken are BONES!!!"
Iosef saw that they were approaching a heavy concrete bunker, and snapped himself upright, kicking in the reverse boosters. At the same time, he would attempt to throw Loki into the heavy, thick, reinforced wall using the momentum they had built on their trip outside...which was quite considerable. Perhaps THAT would slow him down some.

Glory and HonorLoki growled from within his helmet as Iosef reversed away, his suits claws had nearly cleaved through to the flesh and bone beneath, as Microrockets launched towards him, Loki's suit launched counter-measures but his visor slammed closed so he wouldn't lose his sight a few of the rockets popped before his armor and the concussion sent him wavering back, that's when he felt the impact, rather than saw, his visor lifted and Iosef was there and slamming a gauntleted hand into Loki's kidney region, the armor instantly compensated and thickened the area but Loki grunted with each strike all the same, at the same time as they flew through the air Loki slammed his own gauntlet into Iosefs helmet hoping to distract him, repeatedly, his own repulsors, no match for the systems of the Mark II strained against them anyway in the hopes of slowing their momentum even a single iota. Loki kept slamming when they broke free of the facility, and realized with a pang what Iosef had planned, Loki roared in displeasure, as Iosef straightened up and launched him forward, free of the Mark II's influence Loki's repulsors slowed him but not enough as his impact systems engaged and he crashed through the concrete bunker slamming into a back wall as dust and debris filled the air, his suit assessed any injuries, his Kidney was bruised and he had cracked four ribs, Iosef's new suit had come to play. Nothing Loki couldn't handle as he grunted, the systems of the suit while largely paint damaged had been designed to protect him from high altitude falls and this was little different from that, he was spread eagle against the wall as his boosters lifted him up, his suit was still at 97% capacity, good enough for the fight ahead, Loki landed gently within the bunker, his helmet receded.
"IS THAT ALL THE MIGHTY IOSEF ADASCA CAN MUSTER?!" Loki bellowed from the bunker. His visor slammed back down and he opened the comms system as he heard the sounds of battle raging, had royal guards arrived to help him save the prince? No the weapons sounded foreign to his ears, almost primitive in nature with a modern zing here and there. Into the comms Loki whispered to Iosef "The difference between us Iosef if you didn't have your kriffing nose so far up your own rump, is quite simple, you wear those armor's as a crutch, mine is an extension of my body, a tool, a veritable piece of me, you depend on yours to fight and win for you, I depend on me..." Suddenly Loki launched every single micro rocket and a unibeam blast locked onto Iosef's signature and at the same time the gauntlets receded and his grayscale hands appeared as his boosters launched him forward, his single bladed dark blue saber ignited in his hands. "HAVE A GIFT FROM OUR QUEEN!" Loki bellowed as a glowing mass of energy appeared in his free hand and blasted towards Iosef, if Iosef knew his dark arts he would know what that glowing energy was, and would be shocked the underling knew powers such as these, Loki hoped the unibeam and rocket attack would distract Iosef enough for him to close and slam the ball of destruction into his shields while slashing at his left side with the saber.
