NighthawkAnnabelle Shaw exited JFK International Airport in New York, pretty much expecting to just get home and relax. She never found it weird that she was a day behind her friends and relatives back in Australia, but then again, she’d lived in New York for ten years at this point, only using her powers for good and revealing them to those she trusted. People like her friend, Mike Jonus, also known as Nighthawk to some. She trusted Mike just about as much as she trusted herself, and that was saying something. Annabelle then though back to the first time they met, while hopping into her Jeep Wrangler. Mike had completely understood why she left The Land Down Under and after some explanation, he’d come to understand her powers as well. He was like her confidante and as close as she could get to a close friend. Sometime later, she pulled up to a random watering hole and put her car in park. “Finally, I c’n git a coldie,” she said, sighing and getting out and entering the bar.

@annabelle Shaw
Mike leaned back on the stool he sat on, holding a drink in his hand. He was there waiting for a good friend of his to get there. After all the insanity, it'd be nice to just catch up with someone. It was also nice to not have to wear spec ops gear for a change too. As for the person he was meeting, it was his friend from down under, Annabelle Shaw. He sat there thinking for a bit until he heard someone walk in.
"Annabelle! Good to see you again!"

Annabelle smiled and pulled mike into a hug. “‘Ow ya goin’, mate?” she asked, using the Australian term for asking someone how they were doing, before responding herself. “Same to you! Feels like it’s been ages since we last sawr each otha.” She sat on the bar stool next to him, smiling at him as she watched him. Honestly this man made her feel a million times happier than anything or anyone else ever could. After a moment of silence, she piped up.
“So, I know I don’t usu’lly come home this early, but I ‘ave a confession tah make. It’s somethin’ I’ve been ‘oldin’ in for some time now.” She blushed and sighed. “I have feelin’s for you, Mike. Not just the friend type, eitha. More’n that. If you’ll ‘scuse the horrible pun, it’s like there’s a fiyah I can’t control. A passionate one, y’know?” The blush deepened and she smiled sheepishly. “God, I feel like like an idjit for just blurtin’ that out.” She chuckled softly,

Mike smiled when Annabelle hugged him and asked how he was doing. He quickly gave his own hug, saying “Oh, I’ve been good. Things have been nuts though.” He honestly felt like he was on the moon when he was around Annabelle, and he nodded to her sentiment on how long it felt like since they had been able to see each other. “I know. Makes it a little nicer to get to see each other again at least.” Mike notices the smile his friend was giving, and gave her one right back. It was then that she dropped a bit of a bombshell.
Did... did Annabelle just say she... had feelings for him? Not just as a friend, but something deeper. Passionate as she put it. Mike smiled a little as she said she felt like an idiot, wrapping an arm over her shoulder as a hint of red colored his own cheeks. “You know, you shouldn’t feel like an idiot for saying how you feel. I kinda got something to say too actually. I... well....” Why was he so bad at this. “I’ve got feelings for you too, Annabelle. Have for a long time.”
