((I had absolutely no idea what to call the thread lol))
Toni continued fading in and out of consciousness as they got to the University Medical Center - UMC for short. Though the nanites were helpful in healing the teen’s wounds, she was still… what was the word… tired, perhaps? She had weird-ass dreams when she was asleep, ones kind of like those she had as a kid. They were near indescribable when she was conscious but her facial expressions while dreaming - fear, pain, sometimes even sadness - could worry someone. That was what she wanted to avoid, in all honesty. Worrying others, that is.
MALCOLM stayed by her side, continually monitoring her vitals in the background until they could get her to the trauma bay at UMC and hooked up to an EKG machine. He didn’t want to be at fault if she wasn’t properly monitored. He sent the information to Tony so that he was updated on his daughter’s condition. “Her vitals are relatively steady for someone who’s just gone through severe trauma, Mr. Stark. The only thing fluctuating is her brain activity, as she is somewhat consistently waking and falling back into unconsciousness. Should anything more change, I shall give you an immediate update.” He disconnected the message before the elder Stark could reply.
Tony's armor melted away as the VTOL aircraft landed and he landed next to it, not surprisingly the military hadn't decided to follow the stolen ship. Perhaps it had been FRIDAY's theft of launch codes and call signs, but who knew, He was not in a gray sweat suit as Paramedics rushed out and the ramp came down, Tony took in Malcolm's words and nodded. "It's my daughter she was attacked by a massive dog." Tony said to the first medic as they brought a gurney out and began to load her up, Tony breathed a sigh of relief for a moment, but then the realization of what was happening began to sink in.
**The Dream, it was real, but it wasn't until after he awoke that everything began to go to shit fast. The weird people, the strange ships, the fact that this was earth, but not his earth, Tony had experience with dealing with the Multiverse but not on this scale, he also had a sneaking suspicion that there wasn't much of a multiverse anymore. What about those guys in the armor? Rhodes was okay, FRIDAY had sent him the cam feed and the best diagnostics she could on the newcomers. The armor scared and elated him, while more advanced than what he was currently showing it wasn't that advanced, merely differen't. Man his thoughts were racing right now. He knew he had to contact Strange, and maybe even Reed, but for now it was time to focus on the at hand issues.** ((All Words between ** Will either be Tony thinking a lot in a matter of seconds or visions / Dreams ETC while it may be large blocks of words, information etc it is merely seconds to onlookers, used to demonstrate Genius level thought process))
Tony followed the gurney into the hospital assuming the others would follow suit. Above them another armor figure waited atop the building. No helmet, it's face was two shades of gray and it's armor while seemingly lighter than the other had been looked just as deadly, it watched as the beings below walked inside, then took to the skies.

Doctor Strange, former neurosurgeon turned superhero by his ambition in healing his hands, was jumping around the world and checking on several parts of the Earth. At this point, he was pretty sure he beat Phileas Fogg in the quest to go around the world in eighty days. He hadn’t made a bet with Tony or anything, but he was absolutely sure he’d be, as the man’s daughter would say, ‘owning hard at it’.
He stopped traveling once he got to Las Vegas, Nevada. Ironically, he had stopped right outside the hospital where Rhodey and the Starks were, as well as a few others Strange wouldn’t know. He went in and up to the front desk, operating on a hunch. “Excuse me,” he told the receptionist, “is there anyone here by the name of Stark? First name Tony?”
The nurse must have understood what he said because her fingers moved as fast as lightning and she soon looked up at Doctor Strange. “Before I give you any information on the person in question, may I ask who you are, exactly?” She arched a brow.
Doctor Strange looked down at her. “Doctor Strange. I’m a friend of the Starks, or at least the kid. Now is she here or not?” His tone was serious. He’d left the New York Sanctum and had been hopping around time like some weird time-frog only to be questioned? You have got to be joking, he thought as he looked at the receptionist.
The receptionist shrugged. “She’s in the room at the end of the hall on the top floor, on the left. She’s in for blood transfusion and trauma care. Something about a large dog.”
Strange took a moment for everything to finally sink in. The receptionist had said she, not he. Antonia, also known as Toni to those close to her, had been hurt. He knew this would happen, but now he’d have to face the fact that he was going to get chewed out by her father. At that point, Strange just nodded his thanks and opened up a portal to the room with his sling ring.
He completely ignored everyone else who might have been in the room and went straight to Toni, looking her over. He looked over at the EKG machine, noting that her blood pressure readings were normal for a girl her age, reading at 120/78. Her resting heart rate seemed normal as well. That was when it caught his attention. The - now almost former - gash on Toni’s arm. He scowled as he looked at it, pinching her finger and noticing a slight flinch. “No nerve damage. Excellent,” he mused.
Ryuusei had been relatively quiet during their escape; mainly fending off soldiers as their little band hijacked a transport; a 'VTOL' they called it.
Upon fleeing, their first major order of business was to get Toni proper medical treatment and thus landed near a hospital. Ryuusei was wary of entering; memories of him being in a bed and subject to medical experiments were quite fresh...as were those of watching his Sworn Brothers killed off by robots, and this girl could have met the same fate if they hadn't intervened.
So he sucked it up and entered, he'd at least stick with these guys until the girl was alright.
Suddenly a portal opened in the room, and out stepped a man who upon seeing, made Ryuusei feel a bit less tense; with all the crazy shit that went on at that base, seeing someone who looked like a sorcorer or a vampire...felt quite normal to him.
"So who's this guy?: The man seemed to know them and was reading the instruments. "This that Strange guy you guys were talkin' about?"
Jack had come in with the others, staying to be sure Toni was ok. As much as she could be an entitled pain in the rear, Jack didn't want her to get hurt. There was one odd thing though. Jack had pulled a pair of hospital gloves out of a box on the way in and slipped them on. No one had seemed to notice what happened at Area 51, but it scared the teen. Was he getting his mother's powers? Was he losing control? Would he accidentally blow up something in the hospital!? He... he couldn't take it. He hid his worry right now though. Stark was in worse shape than him, and she needed the attention right now. He looked over, seeing Doctor Strange come in. He'd never met the guy, but his parents said he was a good guy. Then Ryuusie asked if that was the guy they talked about.
A guy with red hair, a gray T-Shirt, and red pants came into the Hospital waiting room, as he stood there, grinning, never blinking an eye, he saw that people were in the waiting room, he had so many victims to choose from, but it was hard to choose just one. He walked over to the desk and picked up a pamhlet from the stand. He went through one of the pamphlet as a police man walked up to him.
"Excuse me, sir." Said the Policeman. He had his hand near his gun just in case the guy gave him a tough time. "I think you need to sit down, there's other people that needs to be here more than you do."
Cletus looked and noticed that people were behind him like the police officer said. "So, that they are." He spoke, he then walked away.
He smirked, knowing that the time to strike will be at hand any given moment. "By the time I get done... They'll need all the doctors, they can muster."
Tony stood up as Strange entered. "Wanna clue is in Master Mystic on what the hell happened here? The whole worlds gone crazy, visions of your pal Dorknoby. What the hell Strange, you're supposed to protect reality? What's going on?" Tony said exasperatedly. Then he looked at Toni, and strode over to the otherside of her bed and looked up at Strange. "She defended these guys from some killer dog. I'm so proud and she thinks I won't be." Tony said a bit softer now as he looked at Jack and the others in the room. Tony seemed lost in this world, a scary thought, not to mention he hadn't heard from Rhody yet, which worried him greatly.
Dormmamu smiled gleefully from within the Dark Dimension, his plans of chaos coming to fruition at last. Lord Chaos had sent a missive and was furious with him, but he cared not. For his power only grew over the centuries. His head was aflame as he peered into the ether and saw his querrey. What luck! He mused one of his playthings was nearby those he wished to torment and destroy. But first he had messages to deliver, and the first was the child of Stark, he had already visited the Father, now it was time to rend the daughter's mind.
Dormammu reached inside Antonia's mind, and saw her consciousness it was standing in the dark, he let out a malicious and mirthless laugh as he grew one hundred times the size of a normal being head aflame. "Look at the little hero." He cooed menacingly as the girl's figure turned and looked up at him. "Weak, hollow, pathetic." His voice boomed inside her head, as the vision reached out and scooped her up. The figure struggled against Dormammu's grip but it was useless, she was his toy, and nothing could stop what was happening. "I will rend all you love, all you care for, the world of chaos is my doing and you are but a pawn in my game." He whispered as he lifted her to his eyes, then he turned her in his hands and the vision began to playout first was her father, the Invincible Ironman, the image showed Tony fighting unseen shadowy figures, his armor cracking, his energy flagging, then his armor exploded, sending showers of sparks across the hellscape he fought in, then he screamed as the shadows he fought tore his flesh from his bones, gouged his eyes and the"n drowning on his own blood he fell to the ground alone and unaided, next the vision shifted and Happy Hogan and James Rhodes fought together no suits, against similar shadowy figures, then a massive doglike thing ripped into Rhody's chest and tossed him away his screams dying as he took his last breath, Happy fared little better as his heart was ripped. Then it changed once more, Dr. Strange and Pepper where running from something when Pepper fell and the shadows pounced upon her, tearing her limb from limb, Strange fared a little better than the others but he too fell against the tide of evil that this madman was projecting into her mind. "Doom...Is what await all that oppose the chaos! I will reign over the cosmos and none of you will stop me!" Dormammu bellowed, then the visions began to rapidly increase, X-men Dying, The avengers, her friends at school, teachers, people in the streets, all of them rapidly dying against unseen forces, each death more gruesome than the last, Dormammu seemed to grow even lager, then he held Toni out and dropped her into the Void his laugh echoing as he faded away from her mind, leaving her to fall and fall, like all the others, into darkness and despair.
Now the mind of Jack the Venerable mutant, the child of Gambit and Rogue. Weakness flowed through him but a defiance that Dormammu would crush, in Jack's mind Dormammu appeared first as nothing but a flickering flame in the darkness of his mind then growing and growing until his head floated before Jack's inner self. "Weakling Jack, Takes from his mother and harms what he touches? Blows things up like papa and he'll never live up to their name." Dormammu's hand shot up and gripped Jack, though the rest of his body did not appear just a disembodied hand and head, then the flaming skull jaw dropped open and the hand tossed Jack in, letting him fall into the a replica of the X-Mansion as Jack would look around, he would see his fellow students, hsi teacher's his family Wolverine was walking down the hall, smoking as Jean Gray glared at him and snuffed the Cigar out, as it was snuffed it exploded in Wolverines face and he was thrown back, flames erupted from the walls as Mutant children began to scream, the windows smashed in and Shadowy unseen figures began to appear through it stabbing and rending the flesh of mutants, Wolverine was one of the first as he was torn apart and incinerated by the unseen enemy, then his father appeared, cards flying hitting the beings and trying desperately to help the children who where aflame but soon he was overrun, then his mother appeared and she grabbed what was left of wolverine and began to fight only to fall across her lovers chest in death's sweet embrace, the scene shifted and it showed professor X in his wheelchair, his flesh was distorted and bubbly, then it melted away until all that remained was a skull with lifeless eyes in a tarnished blood stained suit. As before in Toni's vision, Things sped up almost beyond comprehension as all those that Jack knew fought and died, and where torn apart one by one, faster and faster the vision spun until it stopped and all that remained was Dormammu standing thousands of meters tall and once more Jack too was tossed into the void, the words "DOOM DOOM DOOM" echoing through his head along with that same mirthless laugh.
Dormmamu paused for a moment within his dimension and savored the mental anguish he was causing across the heroes psyche. His mirthless laugh was as real as anything even now it did not cease as he looked for his next victim of mental torture, Strange? Rhody? The new ones he did not know, his reach grasped at the one and he smiled without mirth as he felt the boys heart, he would be a valuable tool, then he settled on his disciple that was merely meters away from the heroes in reality, it was time to rock the boat, and show his reach.
Carnage stood next to the reception desk when he would hear the Voice of his one true master, Dormammu. "Cletus, Carnage, my child... My agent of death, the destroyer of families and render of flesh.." The voice whispered in his mind. "Kill them all.. Kill the terrans, and the heroes alike, murder, maim and rend flesh! Dormammu commands it!" The voice echoed in the man's head, then visions of humans fleeing in terror and heroes dying filled the Symbiotes mind. And in an instant he was gone on to terrorize other beings in their minds.
Stephen Strange, Dormammu smiled gleefully his favorite and least favorite plaything wrapped in a red bow. "Hello, Stephen, you peutanlant trickster." Dormammu whispered into his subconscious then grabbed and gripped him tight and brought him to eye level as well. The flaming Faltine form's fire blazing higher as he stared into his enemies eyes. In his other hand appeared Christine Palmer, Strange's former lover, she was suspended as though levitating, and Dormammu looked between the two before repeatedly rending her flash thousands of time's before Strange, over and over again, then he began to switch between them both, first rending strange's flesh and letting him truly feel the pain over and over again, he knew this would have a larger and more profound effect on Strange than visions would, and he wanted to leave his mark before Carnage did, then like all the others before him, as he laughed he tossed Stephan into the void. "I'll see you soon insect and I will break you.. And I shall bring ruin and doom upon your pathetic reality, I am the maker of this glorious new world and CHAOS shall reignnnnnnnnnnn......"
James Rhodes, War-Machine friend of Stark, hmph. "This new foe has you reeling Rhody boy..." Dormammu whispered into his subconscious mind, "But then you're used to being second fiddle, but now you're not even viable, weak and petulant why do you fight? Weak and pathetic, they all hate you. You're nothing but a dog of the military." Dormammu made barking sound and grabbed Rhody's unconscious mind and twisted it hither and yon, first to Tony's demise, then Antonia, his friends and family and everyone in between, he showed the world on fire, wrapped in his flames, cupped between his massive hands, he clapped and the world blinked from existence, he stripped Rhody down to the bone, rending his mental flesh, for what seemed like ages, extending the torment as much as possible twisting his bones and reforging them instantly, healing and breaking, rending and tearing then he like the others before him was tossed like a doll into the darkness, that same Mirthless laugh echoing the same words, soon and doom, echoing through the cosmos.
All of them felt this happen, all of them experienced similar yet different things, and they all would come away from this walking nightmare knowing the same thing, it wasn't happenstance that made this happen, it wasn't the Mercenary in Area 51's fault, oh no, they would know it was merely a catalyst for him, the Lord of Chaos, he ahd thrown the realities of thousands of worlds into disarray, they knew who to blame and there was little they could do now to change it, this new deadly and corrosive world was his creation, and they must now live in it, for what he had done, there was no return, even now the different realities where still merging, smashing into one another fusing, the portals that had formed swallowed the cosmos, all of them saw this as he forced them through the void, the strange Alien worlds, the odd machines, worlds at once similar and vastly different all at once, giant robots and massive destructive ships, undead legions and other heroes like themselves. All of this happened at the end in the same manner to all those he toyed with today. And They would know who caused their pain, who caused this chaos, they would know and despair, for soon his true plan would bear fruit and they would all pay, his minions were ready, his power was growing and his reach would extend beyond all previous encounters, and in the end, they would all die at his hands. The last vision he left them with was barren worlds, dozens upon dozens of dead worlds, corpses rotting in city streets and devoid of life, both sentient and non. All of it gone. From the smallest microbe to the largest celestial power. And then blackness faded in on the vision and it ended, almost as quick as it began, for some it would seem like hours passed, for others it would seem like an eternity, but reality was it lasted mere seconds in the grand scope of time of their reality. And they would all feel the same thing, dread, dread at what had come to pass, and what had not yet come to be.
All of a sudden, Ryuusei wasn't in the hospital room, hell he had no idea where he was...AGAIN! "...the fuck?!" He mouthed audibly...only to soon find himself facing some...giant flaming creature. "I say this again, 'THE FUCK'?!"
He blinked several times and was suddenly 'back' in Toni's room. He shook his head. "There like a gas leak in here? Cuz I just saw some giant flaming bag of dog shit!" Deciding he needed some air, the teen left the room and quickly fished out a cigarette from a pack he 'borrowed' from one of the soldiers at the base and lit up.
The man grinned even more as the symbiote covered his body from head to toe. "You don't have to tell me twice, that was perfect timing, man." He whispered, he saw the humans fleeing in terror and heroes dying inside his own head, the screams felt so delicious to his ears, as he was brought back into reality, he had something in mind for the people in the waiting room, as he looked at them. "I don't know how many of you will die, before you all escape, but we'll find out... Won't we!" He shouted.
The people that were sitting down looked up and noticed that the man was replaced with a Symbiote, as the people who also screamed and tried to run out of the door, some of the people within wheelchairs started pushing themselves out of the hospital, while some weren't at all lucky, Carnage had slashed at the people with his claws, some with his formed weapons that would appear in various forms, he then noticed one of the men running up to the speaker.
"Please, if anyone can hear us, evacuate as fast and calmly as you can, there's a..." The man was cut off when he saw that a red and black spike was protruding out of his stomach, he looked and saw that his blood had also splattered onto the wall in front of him.
"That's a no no, can't let you have someone come over, without making you... FABULOUS!!" Carnage spoke with a chuckle, pulling out his hand. He then proceeded with the Carnage as he continued on his killing spree.
The policeman that stopped Cletus before to let him know that he needed to sit down, was calling in for reinforcement before he too was cut off. Carnage knew that help was on the way to stop him, he figured why not have some fun with a new wave of Policemen on the way. He caught a man that was just about to run out the door and grabbed him quickly with his red tendril. "Where do you think, you're going?" He asked as he pulled the man slowly toward him. He watched as the man tried to grab something to keep himself from being pulled toward the creature. "Don't make this hard on yourself... Man!" He laughed as the man lost his grip.
"No, please... HAVE MERCY!!" The man cried.
Carnage had finally pulled the man toward him and lifted him up. "Don't worry, this will only hurt a lot!" The Symbiote spoke as he formed his other hand into a Scythe.

Although it had been sputtering and sparking the whole flight back to the Med Center, The MK III War Machine suit had held together well enough. Rhodes was reduced to subsonic speeds, though, and due to the chance of complete malfunction, he had to fly fairly low as well. To his credit, the kid who saved him flew close by, keeping an eye to ensure Rhodey was all right, or at least that's how it appeared. It took nearly a half hour to arrive, though, and that was time that he should have been right there with Antonia to ensure she was all right. Sure, she had her father there, but he was probably chewing her out for getting herself into whatever mess this was. She needed her Uncle.
Landing outside the Emergency entrance, Rhodes hit the ground with a very heavy clinking 'THUD!', and his scanners immediately went into search mode. Accessing the database of the hospital, Rhodes found out where Toni was, and immediately stepped out of his suit. That....that was when the proverbial poodoo hit the turbofan.
The mind of Lt Col. James Rhodes exploded in pain as someone, or some THING entered it with extreme force. His hands came up, eyes flew shut, and his teeth gritted as he dropped to his knees on the ground, doubling over from the agony. He screamed out, and fought to keep it out of his mind...but to no avail. The words were a whisper, yet so loud that the human couldn't handle it. He curled up on the ground, the screams dying to a rattling whisper as the first words ripped into his psyche...
"This new foe has you reeling Rhody boy..." "Well, what the hell do you expect? He has a suit from the damn Twilight Zone, and I'm basically in a tin can in comparison. You can't do a -thing- against something like that....
The cold, hard fingers of doubt creeped in, and took hold of Rhodes, and his body stopped seizing from the initial shock. The pain was still there, but it was like James was a million miles away from his agony-wracked body, lost in his own mind. His eyes were blank, staring into the void for all anyone would know. He flopped over onto his back, his head lolling over to the right side.
"But then you're used to being second fiddle, aren't you?" "No, no, that's not how it is at all. We do our own thing most of the time. He just gets more publicity is all. I prefer to fly under the radar...more incognito. I also don't work for him all the time, either, so there's that.
...It wasn't like that at all, was it? Nah......or was it?"
Tony -had- fought tooth and nail to keep him out of the suit, after all. He really REALLY didn't like sharing the limelight. Then again, Tony -did- keep the best tech for himself, and basically threw Rhodes his scraps. Now, along with the feelings of doubt rearing up, there was now a creeping anger building as well. Did Tony really want him to have the War Machine at all? If he had Bleeding Edge tech, perhaps he would have stood a better chance against whoever that was over the desert. He could have possibly done a lot more to protect the evacuating group, and not have to be saved by some unknown kid. It kind of wasn't fair...Tony was setting him up to fail, wasn't he?!?! He KNEW!! He KNEW that Rhodes wouldn't have enough in the way of armor or firepower to take on whoever this was...he had SEEN the other suit, probably taken scans and LAUGHED when he saw how powerful it was.
Then again, maybe Rhodes himself had asked for it...been content to settle for the hand-me-downs that Tony didn't want.....
NO! None of this was true. None of this was real.....Was it?
"Look at you, not even viable. You are weak...and petulant." "No!! I am NOT weak! Get out of my HEAD!!" Rhodes reached instinctively for his right hip, where there was, surprisingly, a pistol. He drew it, and opened fire. He shot the weapon in all directions trying to kill whatever, whoever, the voice...no, the VOICES were. It was one voice, but it echoed eerily as if it was spoken by a million suffering souls in chorus. Cycling the weapon, Rhodes slapped in a fresh magazine, and again emptied it into the smoky air.
The voices...they merely cackled in a demonic cacophony in response to his desperation to quiet them.
"Why do you fight?" "To protect freedom! For my family, my friends, for EVERYONE. They -need- me!
He was there for them every time they called, sometimes even when they hadn't. He shared in their pain, their elation...victories and defeats. He was there every. single. time. So why did he feel like he really wasn't needed? The fights would be much the same without his bullets, it would just be someone else in his place. Was he that low on the totem pole, so to speak? Were they just throwing him a bone to make him feel useful? That couldn't be the case...he had been there for Tony especially, when there was no one else to help him....
....So why did he suddenly feel so useless?
"Weak and pathetic, they all hate you. You're nothing, Rhodes, NOTHING to them. They would rather you just DIE!" "NO!! They are my friends, my family! I would give my life for them, as they would me!
"They" being the Avengers, Rhodes assumed. He was one of their favorites....he got along with most everyone, even the ones that he had opposed in the battle over the Sokovia Accords. He had done his best to make the best decisions for the team. He had done all he was able to keep the Avengers whole....to keep his family together. Family fought sometimes, didn't they? They didn't always get along the way they would like. When push came to shove, however, they had pulled it together in the end. It had taken everything they had most of the time, but they pulled it off.
But had he really been that important to the victories that they had? Wouldn't the outcome have been much the same without him there? Nah...it wasn't really like that...
"You're nothing but a dog of the military."
Well...the echoing voices had a great point. He -was-. He went where they told him, pretty much -when- they told him to. He couldn't deny that fact. Still, he also helped the Avengers in the most dire of circumstances, on the front lines throwing everything he had at wha...at what he was told to shoot at. It was the same with everyone....they were USING him....manipulating him to do what -they- needed him to do.
NO!! Whoever was in his head was doing the exact same thing, only they were trying to turn him against all he stood for, everyone he vowed to protect.
The voices were now laughing....no, they were -barking-...mocking him. Again, he changed the magazine of his weapon, and fired into nothingness. This time, however, they seemed to have rescinded, fallen back to whatever hell they had come from...and now, it felt like they were taking Rhodes with them.
He fell into a portal...not unlike the one that had brought him into this strange world. He felt his body twisting, rending, stretching, ripping into a thousand pieces, yet still whole. What was happening to him? He could hear them again ahead of him....the voices taunting him, goading him, repeating their wicked words in an endless loop of insanity.
"You're nothing!!" "You're pathetic!!"AdA failure, a second thought!!" "You're going to be the cause of the death of everyone!!"
"No!! It can't be true!! I won't allow it to be!! Shut up, shut up, shut UP!!" He pulled the trigger, over and over, the hammer clicking on an empty chamber. He didn't care, he was screaming, trying to rid himself of the banshees raiding his mind. He didn't care how, he just wanted them gone. He wanted the constant bending of reality to cease, he needed it to. He didn't know how much more he could take.
And then, silence, as if Lady Death herself had quieted the voices, all at once. In front of him, Rhodes could see three windows. Two of them were centered on two individuals in particular...Tony Stark, and his progeny, Antonia. Both were in the Lt. Col's charge, he was sworn to protect them. However, through these windows, he could see them dying, over and over, in a different, brutal way each time. First, it was being ripped to pieces by unknown creatures, then it was blown to smithereens by advanced energy weaponry. It was so disturbing to Rhodey that he physically vomited, the deaths sending his mind into a spiral of near-insanty. He just didn't have the mental capacity to process all of this. Was this real? Was it a dream? Something in between?
It was the third window, however, that was the most disturbing. He could see them all, his teammates, friends, family, each one dying. However, the worst part about how they died? It was Rhodes himself causing their deaths...either directly by his actions, or something that he had caused.
Captain America? He was hit by stray fire from his heavy minigun, a round striking him in the heart, and he dropped dead where he stood. Rhodes could feel the pain as the super soldier's heart exploded.
Wanda? She was hit by a barrage of missiles he had intended for Thanos, and they had been redirected before she could protect herself. Her body lay in pieces, still smoking where the high explosive had torn her apart. Rhodes could see the fear in her still-wide open eyes, even in her demise.
Vision, Natasha, Scott, they were all killed in one way or another, caused by HIM. Was this a vision of the future? Was he destined to kill those he loved with such unbridled malice? No, there was no way...it just wasn't something Rhodes would do, would he?
"You are nothing, James Rhodes. You are powerless, and you will watch them all DIE!! They will curse your name, and you will be able to do NOTHING!" "...Was he really that insignificant? Was he really just riding Tony's coattails?"
His thoughts were drowned out by another deep, evil cackling...this time, just one voice....but it was far louder in its whispers than the others. Rhodes dropped to his knees, this time in his mind, covering his ears, to no avail. When would this madness cease? Would there ever be an end to this nightmare???
"I can end your suffering, mortal. With but a clap, I can finish it all for you. Let me demonstrate..." From out of nowhere, a mist appeared...no, a cloud of smoke...or was it a vapor? No matter...it formed hands, holding the very earth in its palms...and crushed it like a sugar cube.
"You just have to kneel, and ask...your pain will be over." "No." At a barely audible whisper, Rhodes tried his best to show his defiance. "I don't believe I have heard you correctly, mortal. Are you defying a God?? I said, KNEEL!" "I said....NO!!" "You FOOL!! Do you not know who you are defying?!?! I can destroy this, and every other universe with a mere thought!" The vapor cloud waved its hand, and Rhodes was instantly flayed, the skin and muscles rending from his bones in all directions. He didn't even have the ability to scream, but somehow, he felt every ounce of the pain, the agony. Then, as fast as it had been ripped off, his flesh was returned, only to be again flayed from his body...and again...and again. His bones began to slowly twist, tiny fractures forming at the stress points, the bones crackling as they were shattered, also only to be put back to normal...and yet again broken. For what felt like years, Rhodes endured this torture, unable to scream, unable to react...
However, his anger was now being redirected...to the one who was truly causing his misfortune. With a roar, Rhodes broke free from the mental restraints and sat up wide eyed, still screaming. He was once again back in front of the Medical center, with no less than a half dozen doctors and nurses surrounding him, trying to get him to wake up. It had only been about two minutes, but Rhodes felt like he had just spent literal YEARS inside whatever hell that vision was. His first thought was to get to the others, but as soon as he tried to stand up, he was stopped by the doctors. They wanted to examine him, and all he wanted to do was make sure everyone else was okay.
Unfortunately, it didn't look like that was going to happen yet. There was now something going on inside the hospital, and heavily armed security were now rushing the Emergency room entrance....Whatever it was, Rhodes was in no shape to assist in any way. He resigned himself to listening to the doctors, and got on the gurney they had brought out to be examined.
His mind was spinning. What the HELL had just happened? What WAS that? Was it real? A dream? A vision? Was it something that happened on this world with any kind of frequency? Were the portals causing it?
He was in no shape to do what he really needed to at this point, though...get with Tony, and figure out how the kriff to get out of this mess. He would let the doctors check him out, then try to get through this security mess when he could.

Toni’s dream made her squirm - literally. She tossed and turned and her heart rate skyrocketed. “No! No! Let me go, you big ugly beast!” she cried. But soon the squirming stopped and soft whimpers came from her maw like a mewling kitten. Dormammu had done what she deemed it impossible for anyone to do, and reached all her weak points. He’d killed Happy and Rhodey, her father, Pepper , the rest of the Avengers and more. Instead of continuing to cry like a little bitch, Toni sneered. “No it’s not like that! I know my father is proud, I know I will live up to the family name and legacy! I will not let you hurt my family!” Unfortunately, she - at last in her subconscious - was forced to watch those she loved dying one by one. “Noooooo!” She screamed as she watched everyone she cared for being shredded apart and utterly destroyed. In the conscious realm, back in the hospital, Toni’s heart rate had peaked and Strange was trying frantically to save her, having brushed off what Tony has said. If one looked closely, they could see she was crying. Her throat was raw and she was in critical condition as far as her heart was concerned. Back in the vision, a helpless Antonia watched as her family, her friends, and everyone else she had ever grown to love were ripped and swallowed by the void. She couldn’t do anything, so instead of squirming without resolve, she fell limp. “You can stand me up at the gates of Hell, but I’ll stand my ground,” was all she said to Dormammu as he dropped her into the void. By this time, Doctor Strange had managed to stabilize her. Warmth enveloped her as she suddenly woke up, propping herself up and looking around at her father, Jack and Doctor Strange.
Jack looked around shocked. The room was gone, he was in a dark space, but he wasn't alone. He saw a flame, one that grew until it was a head staring at him. Then it spoke. It... it called him weak, and seemed to ask if he was like his mom, hurting others with his touch. No.... He... he hadn't hurt anyone. Had he? It then said he blew things up like his dad, and that he'd never live up to their names. He grabbed his head for a second.
"Na.... I... I couldn't've hurt anyone. I only just got dis power." Then he was grabbed. Tossed into what looked like the X-Mansion. He saw Wolverine and Jean before all heak broke loose. Wolverine, his parents, is friends, Professor Xavier.... They were all... they were.... Jack looked, ready to fight the shadows before everything just faded away, leaving only the skull in a suit. He was then flung into seeing many images. Everything he knew, everyone he knew, being destroyed until it was all gone. Everything was gone! Everything was colliding and coming together. It... it was....
The teen then shot awake with a shout, and started panting. What on earth did he just see? What was that?

Doctor Strange brushed off Tony’s snide remarks as if they were annoying bits of chalk dust on his cloak. “Guess you don’t want this kid either then, eh?” He asked, referring to Tony’s ex that had walked out on him and the kid after the latter’s birth. “Now if you’ll excuse me, I’d like to get her stabilized before I interact further with you.” Luckily, he was able to get Toni stabilized before feeling a sharp pain in his body, more specifically in his brain. He scrambled to grab something to numb the pain, but was unsuccessful. Dormammu reaches into his mind and showed him visions that could only be described as Eldritch horrors that no mortal should ever have to face.
He had been killed by Dormammu several times before, but this was something that he didn’t expect. Nothing in the several realities he’d faced had prepared him for that. Unfortunately, seeing these things meant seeing Christine, his former lover and longtime friend, die as flesh was ripped from bone, and her body no more as she died in front of him. Maybe this was that bastard’s sick way of proclaiming that Strange, powerful though he was, could not stop him.
“Christine! No!” he yelled into the void. “I’ll get you, you sick bastard! Even if it means sacrificing myself!” No sooner had he said these words than his flesh began to separate from his own bones. His screams filled the void and yet, they didn’t. He had to see Christine soon, to keep her safe. Hopefully the sanctum was still safe. He’d keep her there until this shitstorm blew over.
When he finally came to, for some reason his first thought was to pull Toni and Jack’s astral forms from their bodies, as well as his own from his.
“Did you both see that or was that just me? I mean, I’m one hundred percent sure that more people have experienced that, but then again, it’s not rocket science to know that when Dormammu goes for something, it’s go big or go home. I fought him multiple times and I’d do it again in a heartbeat if it meant the safety of our reality, as well as the others.”
Carnage was about to strike the man with the Scythe, but a fire from a gun stopped him, he looked as the tendril's let go of the man he was holding, the man escaped as Carnage grinned, he had an idea, an awful idea.
"Ready, Aim..." The leader of the heavily armed security spoke.
Carnage shot out his tendrils as they were fired at the guns themselves.
"Fire." The leader spoke.
The Tendrils latched onto the guns, the guns were jammed as the guns were bloated a little, the men didn't know what to do now, as they only had grenades.
"Come my minions!" Carnage said to the soldiers.
The soldiers were confused until they saw Carnage draw toward them.
Their hearts were beating fast with adrenaline as they weren't enough to escape his grasp, they were too scared to move as Carnage infected the soldiers with his own Symbiote body, encasing the soldiers with his red and black suit. "From now on, you will do my bidding." He spoke as he laughed. The soldiers each felt the Symbiote ooze onto their bodies, causing their skins to become red with black slits.
Once the Soldiers were converted, Carnage knew that he was in control.
As the Soldiers did Carnage's bidding, he began searching the Hospital for new victims, he noticed a couple in a hospital room, a girl was looking at her father, who was in the gurney, he couldn't help but let out a grin as he walked into the room, it was high time, he had some help with liberating the hospital. "Enjoying some quality time together?!" The girl screamed as the man was taken back by what was staring at them, a Symbiote who was wall crawling like a Licker from a video game.
The Symbiote was going to go all out on them and wasn't going to stop, he knew what he had planned as he jumped at the father, over turning the gurney that the dad was on and pulling the pole with the IV bag down onto the floor with a loud clang, Carnage formed his hand into a blade as he grabbed the dad and lifted them both up so that the girl could watch, the symbiote took his bladed hand and carved the man's cheeks with it, the blood ran out of his cheeks as the blade sliced through the cheeks like a slice of bread.
He the heard the girl crying and telling him to stop and begging as well to stop this madness that he was doing to her dad, but with Carnage, it wasn't going to happen, he then formed his hand into a two sided blade AX as he sliced off the man's hands as well, the blood coming from the man's hands gushed out like water from a faucet, then he had enough of the girl's screaming and slashed at the man's abdomen, slicing him in two.
The girl couldn't help but screamed and cried as she saw the horror that unfolded before her, the 10 year old couldn't believe it, her father was gone.
Carnage looked at the girl. "You're next!" He said to the girl.
The girl was quivering with fear as she watched Carnage draw closer to her, the closer he got, the more her heart started racing. "Please... Don't..." She said to the Symbiote, however Carnage wasn't listening, he had plans for her that would prove the heroes defenseless, the symbiote grabbed the girl and began infecting her with the symbiote, causing her to slowly have a red and black suit, her symbiote eyes were the same as his, as he let her go.
The Symbioted girl ran from the room, free to do his bidding now as he laughed.
